Description

The University of La Rioja organizes the University Microcredential in Organic Viticulture , a specialized training aimed at professionals in the agricultural sector interested in deepening their knowledge of wine production under organic criteria.

The micro-credential course will be offered in person , between February 10 and March 24, 2026 , and will be free of charge . This initiative is part of the specific academic program for training technicians in organic production and falls within the objectives of the First Strategic Plan for Organic Agriculture of the Government of La Rioja .

Target audience

The training is aimed at:

  • Professionals in the agricultural sector with a technical or higher qualification (agricultural technical engineering, agronomic engineering or equivalent profile).
  • People with experience in viticulture .
  • Age between 25 and 64 years .
  • Residence in a Member State of the European Union .

The registration period ends on February 4, 2026 , or until the 40 available places for this training course, equivalent to 1.5 ECTS credits, are filled. The course will be held in the Seminar Room of the Institute of Vine and Wine Sciences (ICVV), La Grajera, Logroño.

Program contents

The micro-credential is structured in the following modules:

Module 1. Regulations and basic principles
Module 2. Organic Viticulture
Module 3. Practical workshops , which include:

  • Conversion period to organic viticulture
  • Application of authorized inputs for pest and disease control
  • Use of fertilizers, soil conditioners and nutrients in organic production
  • Audit, control and labeling in accordance with current regulations

Module 4. Technical visit to the farm
