Andalusian agri-food companies operate in an increasingly demanding environment from an environmental and regulatory perspective. To help the sector adapt to this reality, the course “Environmental Prevention and Control Applied to the Agri-food Sector in Andalusia” is being launched. This practical training is geared towards regulatory compliance, avoiding penalties, reducing costs, and strengthening the commitment to sustainability.

This course incorporates fully updated content, including the Draft Law for Environmental Management of Andalusia (5/11/2025), and offers a clear and applied view of the environmental obligations that affect the agri-food fabric of the region.

Course Objectives

The program is designed to enable students to:

  • To know the basic state regulations on environmental prevention and control and the specific regulations of Andalusia.
  • Identify the main environmental prevention instruments applicable in Andalusia.
  • Knowing what administrative procedures exist in this matter and what documentation is necessary to start them.
  • Determine the main environmental aspects that may affect projects in the agri-food sector.
  • Understanding what environmental prevention procedures a company must carry out in case of modifying its facilities, as well as the key aspects to consider.
  • To understand, in the event of an inspection or audit, which documents or records are essential to demonstrate compliance with environmental regulations.

In addition, the course helps to:

  • Manage procedures and documentation for new projects or changes in facilities.
  • Identify environmental risks that may affect the activity.
  • Prepare for inspections and audits with greater confidence.
  • To promote continuous improvement of environmental performance through good practices and more efficient processes.

The syllabus includes, among others, the following sections:

  • Introduction: What is environmental prevention?
  • Environmental prevention and control instruments: types of environmental authorizations.
  • Administrative procedures in the area of environmental prevention.
  • Modifications to authorized facilities and environmental monitoring.
