The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA), through the CAP Network , will hold the professional conference "The present and future in the potato sector" on December 1, 2025 , a key meeting to analyze the challenges, opportunities and trends that will mark the future of this strategic crop in Spain.

The session will be held in a hybrid format, combining in-person attendance —in the auditorium of the MAPA (Paseo de Infanta Isabel, 1, Madrid)— with online streaming , allowing the participation of professionals from all over the country.

A space for reflection for the entire sector

The aim of the event is to open a space for dialogue and joint work on the challenges facing the sector, which include:

  • Sustainability and modernization of farming systems.
  • Digitization and the incorporation of new technologies.
  • The challenges of the market and plant health.
  • The importance of promoting consumption and strengthening sector cohesion.

The meeting is aimed at farmers, cooperatives, professional agricultural organizations, sector associations, processing industry, distribution , and other agents linked to the potato sector.

Institutional participation and strategic vision

The program will include presentations by officials and experts from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) who will offer an updated view on public policies, market evolution, innovation, plant health and future strategies for cultivation.
