The program of the VIII DATAGRI Forum, in detail
Description
Murcia will host one of the major events in agri-food digitalization on November 12th and 13th.
The countdown has begun for one of the most anticipated events on the agri-food calendar: the 8th DATAGRI Forum , which will bring together the leading figures in the digitalization of the sector in Murcia on November 12th and 13th . Under the theme of digital transformation as a driver for a more competitive, sustainable, and connected agriculture , the forum will offer two intensive days of conferences, roundtables, technology demonstrations, and networking opportunities.
NOVEMBER 12: CONFERENCES AND ROUND TABLES IN THE VICTOR VILLEGAS AUDITORIUM
The opening day will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the reception of attendees and welcome coffee , before the institutional opening (10:00 a.m.) by Miguel Padilla (COAG), María Begoña García Bernal (State Secretariat for Agriculture and Food) and Fernando López Miras , president of the Region of Murcia.
Next, expert Irwin R. Donis González , from the University of California – Davis, will offer the Key Note “Transforming the future of food: how digital agriculture can shape global production” .
The program will continue with elevator pitches from startups in the La Vega Innova ecosystem and a series of roundtables addressing the main technological challenges of the sector:
- Sharing data to compete better (11:30 a.m.), with the participation of MAPA , Agri-food Cooperatives of Spain , Esri , SEIDOR and El Limonar de Santomera .
- Data and AI for sustainable water use and nutrition (12:20 h), moderated by the Director General of Water of Murcia , with representatives from IMIDA , AZUD and irrigation communities.
- Digitizing to win: costs, labor and profitability (13:05 h), with speakers from Moyca , Veolia , Mission Produce Peru and Santander .
After the networking lunch (13:50 – 15:15 h) , the forum will be divided into several simultaneous sessions:
In the “Narciso Yepes” Room
- Connected livestock farming: digitization and efficiency in the pig sector , with representatives from CEFUSA-El Pozo , NEALIA , OPP Group and CTI CONTROL – GESPROGA (3:20 pm).
In the “Miguel Ángel Clares” Room
- Automation and robotization: towards a more efficient agriculture , with experts from John Deere , UPM , Pulverizadores Fede , University of Almería and producers from the Poniente region of Almería.
In the Main Auditorium and Ground Floor Hall
- Sustainable nutrition: digitization and new input models , with NOVAGRIC , CEBAS-CSIC , IMIDA and VisualNacert .
- Sustainability and digital traceability: keys for the market and the consumer , with Bayer , IICA , Ametic and Syngenta – AEPLA .
- Smart water: digitalization for efficiency and sustainability , with projects such as SMART GREEN WATER , WATER NUTRITION and REGENIA .
- Logistics and export: traceability and quality at destination , with PROEXPORT , APOEXPA , the Port Authority of Cartagena and the Caliche Group .
The day will culminate with the official closing ceremony (6:00 pm) , in which Rosa Gallardo (DATAGRI Association), Sara Rubira (Minister of Agriculture of Murcia) and Minister Luis Planas will participate.
NOVEMBER 13: DEMONSTRATIONS AND EXPERIENCES AT IMIDA
The second day will take place at the facilities of the Murcian Institute of Agricultural and Environmental Research and Development (IMIDA) , where technical presentations, workshops, demonstration experiences and exhibition spaces will be combined.
The opening (9:00 a.m.) will feature Andrés Martínez (IMIDA), José Luis Miguel (DATAGRI) and María González , Secretary of State for Digitalization and AI.
Among the MAPA Conference highlights are:
- The Open Data initiative via Power BI on the Agricultural Accounting Network (RECAN) .
- The study by the Digitalization Observatory of the Agri-food Sector (CAJAMAR).
- Progress on the Digital Operating Notebook 2025 (FEGA).
- A joint SEDIA-MAPA workshop on the future of agri-food data space .
IMIDA will also present the digital model of the Mar Menor and various IMIDA_AGRITECH projects , while in the main tent, experiences in digitalization from AgrifoodTEF , La Vega Innova , Cajamar-Plataforma Tierra , UPA and Junta de Castilla y León , among others, will be exhibited .
Outside, field demonstrations will showcase the latest innovations from the DTDA2 project, featuring technologies such as:
- In-cabin warnings regarding the risk of fire.
- Robotics for monitoring woody crops.
- Variable dosing machinery.
- Sensors for digital livestock farming.
- And the Fendt electric tractor , as an example of sustainable mobility.
The DATAGRI 2025 Forum is thus consolidated as the epicenter of the digital transformation of the Spanish countryside , a space where innovation, knowledge and real practice converge, promoted by MAPA , Cajamar , Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias de España , COAG , Hispatec and the DATAGRI Association , among other strategic partners.
