Final events of the AF4EU project in Brussels: Think Agroforestry: Enhancing Business Models and Advisory Services

The AF4EU (Agroforestry for Europe) project will hold its final events on November 10 and 11, 2025 in Brussels , with two days that will mark the closing of this ambitious European project dedicated to promoting agroforestry as a key tool for agricultural sustainability, rural innovation and climate adaptation.
Both meetings, organized in a hybrid format, will offer a space for dialogue between researchers, advisors, policymakers and representatives of the agri-food sector , with the aim of strengthening agroforestry business models , improving agricultural advisory services and promoting the integration of agroforestry into European Union policies .
Event "Think Agroforestry: Enhancing Business Models and Advisory Services"
On November 10, between 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. , this event will bring together leading experts and professionals from across Europe to share experiences, tools, and results that facilitate the practical implementation of sustainable agroforestry systems.
Representatives from FAO, TEAGASC, AUA, ZALF and the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) will participate, as well as coordinators of key European projects such as EU4ADVICE, CORENET and GREENCOOP , who will address the relationship between innovation, agricultural advice and business sustainability in agroforestry.
The program for the event “Think Agroforestry: Enhancing Business Models and Advisory Services” offers a comprehensive overview of the present and future of agroforestry in Europe, covering everything from the political and strategic framework of the AF4EU project to digital decision support tools (AFI-Bus DSS) and innovative business models that enable the scaling of these sustainable practices. Through presentations by leading organizations such as FAO, TEAGASC, AUA, ZALF, INNOGESTIONA, and the University of Santiago de Compostela , key topics will be explored, including the role of agricultural advisory services , the integration of tradition and innovation , the strengthening of short supply chains , and the creation of European networks among producers, advisors, and consumers . The event will emphasize how agroforestry can be a catalyst for transformation in European agricultural and rural systems, combining sustainability, profitability, and innovation .
