BIOECONOMY 2025. Conferences of the Danish Presidency of the EU "Bioeconomy" and "Transformative Governance of Food Systems and Biodiversity"

To mark Denmark's assumption of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of 2025, the University of Copenhagen and the Danish Ministry for Green Transition, on behalf of the European Commission, will organize two conferences focused on driving the EU's green transition through the bioeconomy, food systems, and biodiversity. The conferences will take place on December 2 and 3, 2025.
The first conference, taking place on December 2, will mark a key milestone in the launch of the new EU Bioeconomy Strategy. This strategy aims to unlock the full potential of nature-based innovation, enabling Europe to lead the way towards regenerative, circular, and sustainable growth. This high-level conference will explore how to boost and integrate the bioeconomy into the mainstream economy through science, innovation, and governance.
The second conference, taking place on December 3, will focus on how transformative governance can drive a just green transition for the agricultural and food system , while meeting climate and biodiversity goals.
The conferences will bring together policymakers, researchers, industry leaders, civil society and representatives of EU projects to discuss how to turn strategy into action.
