Smart Green Water. Irrigation Technology Demonstration Day
Description
On June 26, 2025 , the University of Córdoba is organizing a demonstration day on irrigation technologies at the La Grajera Experimental Farm , aimed especially at farmers interested in learning about the latest innovations for more efficient and sustainable water management in the field.
The activity will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a reception for participants at the Government Building on the Rabanales Campus . From there, the group will depart for the farm. During the field visit (8:45 a.m.–10:45 a.m.) , attendees will learn firsthand how sensors for efficient irrigation control work, as well as tour the solar pumping station, a turbine, and various automated irrigation systems.
After a coffee break (10:45-11:30) , the day will continue with a classroom session (11:30-13:30) in which the agricultural innovation project will be presented, with special attention to digital twins applied to irrigation management , digital solutions for precision agriculture and tools that help optimize water use through yield maps and other technologies.
The meeting will conclude with lunch (1:30-3:00 PM) allowing participants to continue informally exchanging experiences and impressions.
Participation is free, but places are limited. Those interested should contact Gemma del Río ( gdelrio@upa.es ) to reserve their place.
This event is an excellent opportunity for farmers to learn about technologies that will allow them to improve the efficiency of their farms and adapt to the current challenges of the agricultural sector.
