modernAKIS organizes a webinar on the role of AKIS in educational excellence

On July 2, 2025 , from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. (CET) , the online webinar “AKIS in action: Cultivating innovation – AKIS as a catalyst for educational excellence” will be held, a new event in the AKISConnect webinar series on Wednesday (WoW) , promoted by modernAKIS in collaboration with ATTRACTISS .

This virtual meeting, which will be held via the Zoom platform, aims to serve as a connecting point for stakeholders in Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems (AKIS) across Europe. The goal is to share experiences and best practices and promote collaboration to advance toward a more sustainable, digitalized, and resilient agri-food system.

The event will focus on how innovative and future-oriented education is key to the proper functioning of AKIS. Training farmers, advisors, educators, and agri-food professionals is essential to accelerate the transition to a food system adapted to new challenges.

• GEEK4Food: Learning and engagement with the system
  Cecilia Tonelli, European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT) Food .
  A proposal that combines skills and visibility to drive the agri-food transition through artificial intelligence programs.
• Lifelong learning for advisors and farmers as a tool for innovation in the agri-food sector
  Irene Diti, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Italy) .
  Presentation of the AGRIFOOD4FUTURE itinerary to promote innovation.
• The role of the Rural Development Centres of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate as regional hubs of agricultural knowledge
  Volker Wenghoefer, Ministry of Agriculture of Rhineland-Palatinate (Germany) .
  An example of how regional centers promote knowledge transfer and innovation in the region.

The webinar will offer an opportunity to connect with experts, share ideas, and explore new ways to boost the flow of knowledge in the European agri-food sector.
