Operational Group: Precision Agriculture: Professionalization of Natural Pollination in Greenhouse Production in Galicia

The objective of this Operational Group is to promote bumblebee pollination in greenhouses in Galicia and evolve from a product-based model to a service-based model. The goal is to increase productivity, product quality, working conditions, and income levels for Galician farms dedicated to greenhouse cultivation.

They are of fundamental importance in greenhouses, as in addition to significantly increasing production, they improve fruit set, producing better-shaped fruits that are preferred by consumers. Better-shaped fruits fetch a higher market price. Compared to other pollinating insects, the bumblebee is a very effective pollinator.

The aim is, on the one hand, to promote bumblebee pollination in greenhouses in Galicia and, on the other, to evolve from a product-based model to a service-based model.
