Improving the valorisation and dynamisation of the production of stone pine cones and pine nuts by grouping the production chain and mechanising the use

An Operational Group is created to promote the production and marketing of pine nuts in Catalonia, to increase the economic interest of stone pine stands and plantations and to enable their economically sustainable forest management.

To achieve this goal, forest owners and their associations, research centres and companies in the sub-sector are working together, creating a working group between the actors in the entire chain. The project has therefore been developed from a multidisciplinary point of view that includes forestry engineering and socio-economics.
