Description

The Task Force intends to conduct a feasibility study of different alternatives for improving irrigation in the Guadajoz orchards.

A study will be conducted in the orchard area of the Guadajoz River in the districts of Castro del Rio, Baena, and Espejo on the current irrigation facilities. The aim is to propose different alternatives for modernizing the existing irrigation systems in search of improved water and energy efficiency.

An attempt will be made to find a solution that will allow irrigators to form an irrigation community by reducing the number of water withdrawals from the river.

The study of the possible implementation of renewable energy or other energy-saving mechanisms will allow for the gradual elimination of the current diesel pumping stations, avoiding potential oil and diesel spills into the Guadajoz River.
