  • Type Operational group
  • Execution 2017
  • Assigned Budget 4.550,00 €
  • Scope Autonómico
  • Autonomous community Andalucía
  • Main source of financing PEPAC 2014-2020
Description

The Task Force seeks to gain a deeper understanding of the sector's problems and promote this type of organic tropical fruit production.

Description of activities
  • Consultations will be held with technicians and producers to assist in a more accurate diagnosis of the situation and identify bottlenecks in organic subtropical fruit production in this area.
  • Training activities will be organized to address cultivation techniques, commercial issues, and associative aspects, promoting the creation of producer networks that facilitate the exchange of information and the joint approach to specific problems.
  • New marketing channels will be explored, prioritizing the development of short and local channels.
  • The use of traditional practices and local inputs will be promoted for soil fertility conservation, sustainable use of water resources, and pest and disease control.
  • Crop diversification will be supported, both at the species level, some of which may have a niche in organic farming that they cannot find in the conventional market, and from a varietal perspective, which is restricted to almost a single variety in the two major crops in the area, mango and avocado, which represents a clear threat to the sustainability of these crops in the medium term.
