The Task Force seeks to better understand the problems of the sector and promote this type of production.
To this end, they will consult with technicians and producers to help diagnose the situation more accurately and identify bottlenecks in organic subtropical fruit production in this area. They will organize training activities that address cultivation techniques, commercial issues and associative aspects that promote the creation of producer networks that facilitate the exchange of information and the common approach to certain problems. They will explore new marketing channels, giving priority to the development of short and local channels. They will promote the use of traditional practices and local inputs for the conservation of soil fertility, sustainable use of water resources and the control of pests and diseases. They will support the diversification of crops, both at the species level, some of which may have a niche in organic farming that they cannot find in the conventional market, and from the varietal point of view, restricted to almost a single variety in the two major crops in the area, mango and avocado, which represents a clear threat to the sustainability of these crops in the medium term.
