Nanotechnology is a science capable of offering ecological alternatives to agriculture through the preparation of nanosystems such as fungicides, insecticides and herbicides. Its applications are still in their early stages.
The main objective of the Task Force is to optimise the use of biopesticides in crops, contributing to the objectives set by the AEI to promote a resource-efficient, economically viable, climate-friendly agricultural sector in harmony with essential natural resources. Nanosystems will be developed using a simple, clean and low-cost methodology.
These nanocarriers synthesized with biodegradable materials will encapsulate biopesticides that are currently used by farmers, allowing their release to be controlled and favoring their protection against external factors. Currently, nanosystems applied in agriculture are based on metallic nanoparticles.
