Operational Group: Nanotechnology applied to agriculture
- Type Operational group
- Execution 2017
- Assigned Budget 418.838,00 €
- Scope Autonómico
- Autonomous community Andalucía
- Main source of financing PEPAC 2014-2020
Nanotechnology is a science capable of offering ecological alternatives to agriculture through the development of nanosystems such as fungicides, insecticides, and herbicides. Its applications are still in their early stages.
The main objective of the Task Force is to optimize the use of biopesticides in crops, contributing to the objectives set by the AEI to promote a resource-efficient, economically viable, climate-friendly agricultural sector in harmony with essential natural resources. Nanosystems will be developed using a simple, clean, and low-cost methodology.
These nanocarriers, synthesized from biodegradable materials, will encapsulate biopesticides currently used by farmers, allowing their release to be controlled and protecting them from external factors. Currently, nanosystems used in agriculture are based on metallic nanoparticles.
