Description
RESINLAB promotes a network of experimental territories where different actors in the resin value chain can co-create solutions to ensure innovation focused on users and territories.
Objectives
- Promoting new models of professionalization of the resin trade.
- Development of new extraction technologies that ensure sustainable use.
- Creation of a data observatory to ensure traceability and transparency and facilitate decision-making.
Results
- Formation of three provincial resin producers' associations. Study and analysis of resin producer support by region and province. Knowledge transfer, training, advice, and exchange of experiences among resin producers.
- Execution, monitoring, and comparison of mechanized resin extraction versus traditional resin extraction in 8 Living Labs. Creation of a mechanized resin extraction best practices manual. Quality analysis and characterization of resin samples from 6 Living Labs.
- Development of an industry database with a searchable viewer and a map of optimal resin extraction areas. Creation of a network of experts and an online library for the resin extraction industry. Development of a decision-support tool and a profitability calculator for resin extraction and landowners (https://observatorioresinasnaturales.es/).
