Description
MIKOGEST promotes the management of mycological resources through innovative techniques (ICT tools) to ensure sustainable use of the resource and product traceability.
Objectives
- Estimate productivity and production projections to enable decision-making to ensure sustainable management of the natural environment.
- Establish management criteria to ensure the sustainability of the resource and its traceability.
- Professionalize harvesting and promote collector associations.
Results
- Production prediction based on habitats and weather conditions. Design and structuring of a Mycological Big Data tool that allows for the analysis of the vast volume of data available in the natural environment (https://visor.mikogest.net/). Development of the Smartbasket app, an open, downloadable app for all users that converts a mobile phone into a smart basket (https://www.mikogest.net/pagina/smartbasket). Design of the Micontrol tool to facilitate the monitoring of the use of gamekeepers in mycological reserves (https://www.mikogest.net/pagina/micontrol).
- Sustainability criteria for land use based on established production variables. Organic certification for a total of 240,389.72 hectares in Castile and León.
- Creation of the association of professional harvesters and a training and active cooperation plan and project management as tools for knowledge transfer (https://seteros.es/).
