GENERAL OBJECTIVES We live in times where the sustainability of our farms and their resilience to climate change and other external factors is key to ensuring that, tomorrow, we continue to have profitable crops. The application of the 2030 Agenda and the principles of sustainable development are key, not only in our farms, but also to access the markets in which we operate today. More and more customers are demanding strategies in this regard in order to be able to buy our products. People who are dedicated to producing food and their cooperatives, through marketing, have been working for years to safeguard and protect natural spaces, create employment, guarantee quality products, improve energy efficiency, in short, guaranteeing that agriculture and livestock continue to be sustainable sectors and therefore comply with the 2030 Agenda, but often, little is communicated about everything that is done. In addition, precision agriculture is of the utmost importance, since with the arrival of new technologies (sensors, satellites, drones, GPS, etc.), the field and our crops are constantly changing, and it is necessary to analyze and understand all the variations and particularities of the environment in order to be able to provide the exact inputs for the optimization of the harvests. The application of technology in agriculture allows us to obtain the information necessary to understand variations in soil and crops , and this, together with the principles outlined in terms of sustainability, can become a competitive advantage, much needed in these times.

The Catholic Agricultural Cooperative COOP. V. de Cocentaina , in collaboration with the Fira de Tots Sants, Cocentaina City Council , is organizing the fifth International EVOO Forum, Technical Conference and EVOO Competition. For the fifth consecutive year, this event will bring together the Extra Virgin Olive Oil sector for three days in Cocentaina (Alicante). Interesting technical sessions that include round tables and conferences, showcookings and tastings with the interaction of the public and, as a central activity, the International EVOO Competition, whose prizes will be awarded on the third and last day of the event, Friday, January 31, 2025. These awards are given by the prestigious Official Tasting Panel of the Valencian Community in five categories: three awards in the general category and two special awards: for the best organic EVOO and the best EVOO of the Valencian Community. These awards are completed with the recognition of the organization to different personalities or entities for their work in promoting and defending Extra Virgin Olive Oil. On Wednesday, January 29, the "AOVE in feminine: women protagonists in the cooperative economic model" conference will take place, organized by the Association of Women of Agro-food Cooperatives of Spain (AMCAE) and financed by the MAPA. The second EU CAP Network workshop “National networks for innovation and knowledge sharing” will take place in Reims (France) on Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30 January 2025 . The CAP National Networks have the same objectives and tasks as the EU CAP Network, at national level, as defined in Article 126 of the CAP Regulation. Although the National Networks have gained experience with the AGRI-EIP Operational Groups (OGG) projects over the previous programming period, surveys and meetings have indicated that they would need annual capacity building events, support in peer learning and guidance to identify good practices. This would help them to carry out the tasks of the National Networks and use AKIS interventions more effectively, increasing innovation and knowledge exchange. In this context, the EU CAP Network focusing on Innovation, Knowledge Sharing and the Agricultural Innovation and Development Initiative (EIP-AGRI) invites CAP National Networks, AKIS Coordinating Bodies, Managing Authorities, Paying Agencies and Advisors to the second workshop “National Networks for Innovation and Knowledge Sharing” on 29-30 January 2025. The event will focus on how to support the CAP cross-cutting objective in daily practice and how to use the national networking tools and AKIS interventions available to do so . With more than 3,800 ongoing or completed projects across the EU, your project results have huge potential to be discovered. The workshop will take advantage of the unique opportunities offered by the EIP-AGRI to create synergies and stimulate knowledge exchange across the EU . The event will be structured based on the suggestions received from participants on common themes of interest for transnational collaboration. On the second day, a matchmaking exercise will be organised to connect participants around these key themes. Attention will be paid to how to best organise such transnational/cross-border collaboration and exchange. The Royal Spanish Federation of Select Livestock Associations (RFEAGAS) has launched the Innovation Week , an initiative that will take place from January 27 to 30 in virtual format through the Zoom platform and that will have different sessions scheduled at 12:00 noon. The purpose of this event is to present the progress and results of the Supra-autonomous Operational Groups in which the Royal Federation participates and, therefore, the programme includes the presentation of these groups, as well as presentations by experts in innovation and a round of questions open to attendees. In-person technical conference aimed at presenting innovative solutions to boost agricultural productivity.

This year, EUFRAS resumes the COFFEE Break event series started last year, and has already announced its first event of 2025, to be held on 23 January at 10:00 CET via Zoom . This time, the experience of the COREnet project, entitled "Short Food Supply Chains (SFSC) Advisory Network" will be explored. EUFRAS is the European Forum for Agricultural and Rural Advisory Services , an organisation that connects professionals and organisations dedicated to providing advisory services in the agricultural and rural field across Europe. On January 23 at 9:30, in an online format, the presentation day of the Spanish Network of Advisors in Organic Production will take place. This initiative is linked to the European project OrganicAdviceNetwork and is open to both conventional advisors who want to get started in organic production, as well as those with consolidated experience in the sector , since it is hoped to reach the largest possible number of advisors in order to create a space to learn, share and grow together. During this session the following will be announced: The objectives and activities of the Spanish network. The possibilities for participation and the commitments to be part of it. Next steps to strengthen advice on organic production in Spain. On January 15, 2025 , the horticulture sector has a key date with the conference entitled “Innovation and Challenges in Horticulture” , an event that will bring together experts, companies and professionals in a forum for the exchange of knowledge. The conference, organized by Tierras Agricultura magazine and Grupo Interempresas, will be held in an environment designed to foster connections between the main players in the sector. As with the two previous forums, this event will take place at Caballerizas (Arkaute Model Farm) and on this occasion, the latest developments and advances in the Basque Country's agritech strategy, led by NEIKER, will be presented to stakeholders in the Basque agri-food sector. In the Basque Country, AKIS has its own objectives linked to our reality.
