The Andalusian Government, through the Business Agency for Economic Transformation and Development, Andalucía TRADE , has launched a new incentive programme aimed at boosting economic activity in the autonomous community by encouraging industrial research and experimental development projects, investment projects for the growth and improvement of the competitiveness of SMEs and small business start-up projects. The aim of this event is to inform Andalusian companies about the content of the different lines of action contemplated by this business incentive programme, as well as to help SMEs prepare their projects in order to facilitate access to these incentives, based on experience on issues specific to calls for aid and through advice and practical aspects to take into account in the processing.

The Economics, Post-harvest and Industry Working Groups of the Spanish Society of Horticultural Sciences (SECH) are organizing a new online Congress on "The agri-food challenge in the face of climate change" that will take place online on December 3 and 4 . The challenges of the agri-food sector in the current climate change scenario and the 2030 Agenda require a response from the entire agri-food chain, from production, through industry, process improvement, marketing and responsible food consumption, and influencing the responsibility of society itself. These challenges become challenges and opportunities that will be addressed at the Congress. The conference will be organised in sessions that will include oral presentations and invited speakers with works related to fruit and vegetable production, post-harvest, circular economy and environmental sustainability.

Digitalisation in the agricultural sector is a crucial challenge, especially for a wide range of small and micro-sized agricultural companies (SMEs), as well as for the state administration, which must coordinate with the Autonomous Communities and the European Union. In this context, the event will analyse the challenges and opportunities posed by digitalisation within the legislative framework of the CAP-27 and the Nature Restoration Law , including aspects such as the Digital Exploitation Notebook (CUE) and its integration with the databases managed by FEGA in Spain. The event will bring together experts from the administration and private companies who will share their experiences in the development of technological solutions for connectivity and data management. After the presentations, there will be a round table where attendees will be able to interact directly with the professionals.

The co-funded European Partnerships are associations of national and regional R&D funders, research organisations and the European Commission. Their mission is to promote the advancement of science in specific sectors. Several partnerships have been launched in the field of agri-food, including FutureFoodS and Agroecology . One of its activities is to launch calls for funding for R&D&I projects in the agri-food sector through which both public and private institutions can obtain funding to participate in international R&D&I projects . CARINA is a four-year transnational Innovation Action (until October 2026), supported by the European Union under the Horizon Europe programme. The project focuses on new sustainable and diversified agricultural systems, including two new oilseed crops, carinata and camelina, capable of providing multiple low-iLUC feedstocks for the bio-based economy.

The Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural World and Environment of the Government of La Rioja organizes the Sustainable management and soil quality conference, within the framework of the European project " Phos4Cycle. Monitoring of phosphates in agricultural and livestock activities for the sustainable use of soil and water, of the Interreg Sudoe program ". The Phos4Cycle project aims to develop a common strategy and action plan for the management of phosphates associated with agricultural and livestock activity in rural areas. Among the strategies evaluated in the project is the application of biochar in different crops. The use of biochar has been increasing in recent years due to the environmental benefits attributed to it. This conference will discuss how the application of biochar affects soil quality and carbon dynamics, as well as experiences of its use in different crops. The Plant Health and Certification Service is the technical unit that carries out the functions of control and certification of seeds and nursery plants, the management of surveillance and control plans for plant pests and diseases, the marketing and use of phytosanitary products and their evaluation, and technical advice to the production sector on plant health and seed production.
