The 2nd edition of AgroMurcia will be held at the El Batel Auditorium and Conference Centre (Cartagena) on 12 and 13 March 2025, following its successful first edition in the same month in 2023. On March 5, the Lleida fairgrounds will be the setting for the second edition of the National Congress of Agricultural Service Companies. This professional event is shaping up to be a crucial meeting point to highlight and reinforce the fundamental role of service companies in the agricultural sector. Under the general name of "AGRISERVICIOS", the event will bring together leading companies and specialists in agricultural services in Lleida, providing a space for analysis and the exchange of ideas on the opportunities and challenges facing the sector. Topics such as the digitalisation of agricultural services , efficiency in the use of resources, inter-company collaboration, generational change and the role of young people in the industry, as well as technological innovations and sustainable practices that are revolutionising the sector will be addressed . As was the case in the 2023 edition in Ciudad Real, AGRISERVICIOS is a valuable opportunity to connect, learn and collaborate with other professionals committed to progress and sustainability in agriculture. A new edition of SMAGUA, the International Water and Environment Exhibition , will take place at Feria de Zaragoza from 4 to 6 March 2025. In 2025, innovation , efficient water management , sustainability , training and the impetus for companies to enter international markets will be the focus of the exhibition and technical sessions that make up this international event, which showcases the latest advances in irrigation and water management. Sustainable irrigation in agriculture Innovations and products for agricultural irrigation and water management in the agricultural environment have a large exhibition space at this professional water fair, to show cutting-edge technology and as a meeting point for the exchange of specialized knowledge. During this session, the Recicland project will be presented , and theory will be taught on the environmental consequences of hazardous waste management and on the internal management of pesticide containers, broth residues, and expired or discontinued products on the farm, as well as on the management of this hazardous waste off-farm.

On December 10, 2024, at the University of Huelva, the HIDRONUT_SAT Operational Group (GO) “Application of high-resolution satellite images from the Copernicus program in the management of nutrition and irrigation in citrus crops” will present its objectives and progress during the ATTENTIA project Dissemination Day. This meeting will feature the researcher from the University of Huelva, Alberto Zabalo and Carlos Chacón, from the Department of Field – PRL – García Carrión 1.890 SL, members of the HIDRONUT Operational Group , to bring together objectives and advances deployed in this initiative. It should be noted that through this innovative initiative, the Andalusian citrus sector will have access to new digital tools to optimize water and nutrient management, and improve decision-making for the economic and environmental sustainability of producers and industry, improving traceability and transparency in transactions between the links in the production chain. GO HIDRONUT is formed by García Carrión 1890 and the Campus of International Excellence in Agro-Food Consortium (ceiA3) together with the research group ' Integrated management of agricultural and natural resources | AGR-227 ' of the University of Huelva, with the collaboration of the Association for Rural Development of Western Andévalo-Adrao. IV National Congress on Groundwater Irrigation , a crucial event that will bring together irrigators and technicians from various regions of Spain, including Andalusia, Castilla-La Mancha, Catalonia, Aragon and Castilla y León. This conference will address important issues related to the management and sustainable use of groundwater, highlighting the need for an informative and constructive debate. The central theme of the event will be a series of presentations by experts in the field.

To address key issues in pigeon breeding, we will have the participation of an animal health expert from the University of Valladolid (UVA), who will share key knowledge on maintaining optimal health in birds and the facilities necessary to guarantee animal welfare and production efficiency. In addition, producers who are already engaged in this activity will present their experiences and the main challenges they face on a daily basis, providing a realistic view of the sector. Finally, the role of catering as a driver of demand for pigeons will be analysed, highlighting the interest in this product in local gastronomy and its potential as a differentiating element in the culinary offering of the region.

The 2nd Congress of Agricultural Engineering, organised by the Council of Official Colleges of Technical Agricultural Engineers of Spain and the Official College of Technical Agricultural and Forestry Engineers of Catalonia, will take place on 13 and 14 November at the Higher Technical School of Agri-Food and Forestry Engineering and Veterinary Medicine of the University of Lleida. The central themes of its seven sessions include water management, the food chain, agrivoltaics, green spaces and urban trees, hydrological forest management and plant health. PROGRAM | REGISTRATION

The 13th edition of the World Rabbit Congress will be held from 2 to 4 October in Tarragona PROGRAM

The Subdirectorate General for Innovation and Digitalisation has organised a new webinar of the Observatory of the Digitalisation of the Spanish Agri-Food Sector . With this event, it resumes its series of webinars after the summer break, addressing key issues related to digitalisation in the agri-food sector. The Digitalization Observatory is an initiative promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) in collaboration with the Cajamar Cooperative Group , and is developed thanks to the Next Generation funds from the European Union . The next webinar, entitled "Application of artificial intelligence in animal health monitoring" , will be held virtually on September 25 , from 12:00 to 14:00 . It will delve into the applicability of artificial intelligence systems for monitoring and controlling health in livestock farms, exploring new opportunities to improve efficiency and sustainability in the sector. Between September 12 and October 2, Miguel Hernández University has launched a series of conferences entitled "The Challenges of Agriculture: Technological Innovation and Digitalization ", which will be held in Orihuela, Elche and Pilar de la Horadada. Specifically: September 12: 19:00h. Orihuela. La Lonja. 24 September: 19:00h Elche. Congress Centre. Filet de Fora, 1. October 2: 7:00 p.m. Pilar de la Horada. Coop. Surinver. The cycle has the financial support of the Alicante Provincial Council and is organised in collaboration with the town councils of Orihuela, Elche and Pilar de la Horadada. The activity is aimed at farmers, agricultural professionals and the general public. Orihuela was the setting for the first session, which was held at La Lonja. Irrigation using soil probes, nitrate control and precision agriculture were the focus of the conferences. On the 24th, precision irrigation and the use of drones for diagnostic imaging will be the main topics. At the conference scheduled for October 2, high-tech greenhouse management, precision irrigation and the use of drones will be the main topics of the program. The Union of Farmers and Ranchers of La Rioja (UAGR) has organized a day dedicated to the presentation of the InnovAC-Eco Project , dedicated to studying the presence of phytosanitary residues in olive oils, originating from drifts of applications on other crops, focusing on the herbicidal active ingredient Prosulfocarb. Even if the maximum limits authorized for consumption are not exceeded, their mere presence does represent an impediment to the certification of organic oils , thus reducing their profitability. Technology to prevent drift from phytosanitary treatments Within the framework of this project, a prototype technology capable of detecting product drift in real time has been developed. The work has also served to raise awareness among cereal growers about the drift caused by their treatments. No prior registration is required.

The 62nd edition of the Feria Nacional del Campo (National Countryside Fair) will begin on June 26 in Manzanares. It is a meeting point for the sector with more than 42 million euros in merchandise on display and a program of more than forty activities including technical conferences, tastings of agricultural and food products, workshops and competitions, with the participation of more than 204 exhibitors. Opening and activities Fercam will open its doors at 10:00 on Wednesday 26 June, with the official opening at 11:30. During the five days of the fair, visitors will be able to enjoy a varied and attractive programme for all audiences. The technical conferences, organised by agricultural companies and associations, will address topics such as: Mobility Innovation and digitalization Resource optimization. Tastings of agricultural and food products are also a common attraction and are in high demand by the public. Children's Prizes and Activities The National Countryside Fair will award prizes to the best agricultural and food products in the wine, Manchego cheese and olive oil competitions. For the little ones, Fercam offers activities such as 'Livestock for a day', 'Chefs for a day', a children's honey tasting and a healthy breakfast. This year, Repsol is presenting new free workshops for all ages, such as agroecological urban gardens, building wind generators, composting and building solar cars.
