A new edition of SMAGUA, the International Water and Environment Exhibition , will take place at Feria de Zaragoza from 4 to 6 March 2025. In 2025, innovation , efficient water management , sustainability , training and the impetus for companies to enter international markets will be the focus of the exhibition and technical sessions that make up this international event, which showcases the latest advances in irrigation and water management. Sustainable irrigation in agriculture Innovations and products for agricultural irrigation and water management in the agricultural environment have a large exhibition space at this professional water fair, to show cutting-edge technology and as a meeting point for the exchange of specialized knowledge. On December 10, 2024, at the University of Huelva, the HIDRONUT_SAT Operational Group (GO) “Application of high-resolution satellite images from the Copernicus program in the management of nutrition and irrigation in citrus crops” will present its objectives and progress during the ATTENTIA project Dissemination Day. This meeting will feature the researcher from the University of Huelva, Alberto Zabalo and Carlos Chacón, from the Department of Field – PRL – García Carrión 1.890 SL, members of the HIDRONUT Operational Group , to bring together objectives and advances deployed in this initiative. It should be noted that through this innovative initiative, the Andalusian citrus sector will have access to new digital tools to optimize water and nutrient management, and improve decision-making for the economic and environmental sustainability of producers and industry, improving traceability and transparency in transactions between the links in the production chain. GO HIDRONUT is formed by García Carrión 1890 and the Campus of International Excellence in Agro-Food Consortium (ceiA3) together with the research group ' Integrated management of agricultural and natural resources | AGR-227 ' of the University of Huelva, with the collaboration of the Association for Rural Development of Western Andévalo-Adrao. The 2nd Congress of Agricultural Engineering, organised by the Council of Official Colleges of Technical Agricultural Engineers of Spain and the Official College of Technical Agricultural and Forestry Engineers of Catalonia, will take place on 13 and 14 November at the Higher Technical School of Agri-Food and Forestry Engineering and Veterinary Medicine of the University of Lleida. On October 24, the online event "Digitalization of irrigation communities" will be held, a key meeting to address the challenges and opportunities that technology offers to the agricultural sector. This event, aimed at agricultural professionals and representatives of irrigation communities, aims to show the advantages of implementing digital tools to optimize water management and improve efficiency on farms. Experts in applied technology for the agricultural sector will offer talks on the use of sensors, management software and monitoring platforms that allow for more precise and sustainable control of water in crops . In addition, success stories will be presented from irrigation communities that have already integrated digital solutions into their systems, managing to reduce costs and increase productivity. The event will also include a Q&A session where participants will be able to interact with the speakers and resolve specific questions about digitalisation . Between September 12 and October 2, Miguel Hernández University has launched a series of conferences entitled "The Challenges of Agriculture: Technological Innovation and Digitalization ", which will be held in Orihuela, Elche and Pilar de la Horadada. Specifically: September 12: 19:00h. Orihuela. La Lonja. 24 September: 19:00h Elche. Congress Centre. Filet de Fora, 1. October 2: 7:00 p.m. Pilar de la Horada. Coop. Surinver. The cycle has the financial support of the Alicante Provincial Council and is organised in collaboration with the town councils of Orihuela, Elche and Pilar de la Horadada. Irrigation using soil probes, nitrate control and precision agriculture were the focus of the conferences. The 62nd edition of the Feria Nacional del Campo (National Countryside Fair) will begin on June 26 in Manzanares. It is a meeting point for the sector with more than 42 million euros in merchandise on display and a program of more than forty activities including technical conferences, tastings of agricultural and food products, workshops and competitions, with the participation of more than 204 exhibitors. Opening and activities Fercam will open its doors at 10:00 on Wednesday 26 June, with the official opening at 11:30. During the five days of the fair, visitors will be able to enjoy a varied and attractive programme for all audiences. Transfer Day on the use of “ Digital Technologies for Irrigation Efficiency and Applications in Precision Agriculture ” within the framework of the European DATI Project of the PRIMA program, aimed at the development and validation of new technological solutions to improve irrigation efficiency in crops in the Mediterranean basin.
