The VII AGROCISTUS Technical Conference will take place on December 4 in Fraga (Huesca)

The Plant Health and Certification Service is the technical unit that carries out the functions of control and certification of seeds and nursery plants, the management of surveillance and control plans for plant pests and diseases, the marketing and use of phytosanitary products and their evaluation, and technical advice to the production sector on plant health and seed production.

The VIII Technical Forum on Plant Health organized by the Center for Plant Health and Certification will take place on November 28 in the Auditorium of the Mediterranean Agricultural Institute of Zaragoza

The 1st National Meeting of Young People and Hosts participating in the Cultiva Program will take place in Madrid on November 27. This program promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food provides young people from rural areas with access to on-site training, guided by the managers of model farms, examples of good practices and the implementation of innovation in the sector. In order to bring together the participants of the CULTIVA Programme (young people, hosts of model farms and management entities) from the 2020 to 2023 editions, and to create a network among all of them to discuss this initiative and the generational change in the agricultural sector, this meeting will take place, which will include discussion panels and activities that promote the exchange of experiences. On the verge of its 40th edition, BioCultura Madrid will once again show that “bio” is not/was not a fad and that it is here to stay. The fair will be held in November at the Feria de Madrid-Ifema venue. The sectors will be: Organic food; Certified eco-natural cosmetics and hygiene; Healthy home; Sustainable fashion; Eco Lifestyle; Health and Wellbeing, NGOs… It is expected that 400 exhibitors will participate and that more than 50,000 visitors will once again be expected. More than 300 activities will be held in parallel to the exhibition. Ángeles Parra, director of the fair, commented that “it would be very difficult to summarise these almost 40 years of fairs, activism, rebellion and social awareness. We have never been a fad. Time has proved us right. The future will be ecological or it will not be.”

The 2nd Congress of Agricultural Engineering, organised by the Council of Official Colleges of Technical Agricultural Engineers of Spain and the Official College of Technical Agricultural and Forestry Engineers of Catalonia, will take place on 13 and 14 November at the Higher Technical School of Agri-Food and Forestry Engineering and Veterinary Medicine of the University of Lleida. The first open day of the 53rd Seminar for Horticultural Technicians and Specialists will be held on September 23rd . It is organized by the Andalusian Institute for Research and Training in Agriculture, Fisheries, Food and Organic Production (IFAPA) in collaboration with COITAND and MAPA. The event will take place at the IES El Picacho , in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, and will begin at 10:30 a.m. The programme includes a presentation on premium horticulture and a historical overview of IFAPA in Chipiona, followed by several technical presentations that will address key topics such as: The short digital marketing channel in Andalusia. The cooperative group Agropal and the specialized magazine Tierras (from Interempresas Media) are organizing the 2024 edition of the Congress "The future of cereal", which this year will feature Ramón Armengol , a prominent figure in Catalan and Spanish cooperativism who has recently received the distinction of the Civil Order of Agrarian Merit awarded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, as its opening speaker. The second edition of the demonstration day "Variable dosing equipment for phytosanitary products" will take place on July 9th at Finca La Grajera . Organized by the Government of La Rioja , the event will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will continue with a field demonstration of the phytosanitary application equipment. Issues such as: Monitoring and management of variable dosage treatments CAP aid. Management of agricultural inputs using variable dosing technologies. Aimed primarily at farmers and industry experts, the event has limited capacity, so registration is mandatory. It will be taught by technicians from the Agricultural Production Service and the Income Assistance Service and SIGC . REGISTRATION

The Union of Farmers and Ranchers of La Rioja (UAGR) has organized a day dedicated to the presentation of the InnovAC-Eco Project , dedicated to studying the presence of phytosanitary residues in olive oils, originating from drifts of applications on other crops, focusing on the herbicidal active ingredient Prosulfocarb. Even if the maximum limits authorized for consumption are not exceeded, their mere presence does represent an impediment to the certification of organic oils , thus reducing their profitability. Technology to prevent drift from phytosanitary treatments Within the framework of this project, a prototype technology capable of detecting product drift in real time has been developed. The work has also served to raise awareness among cereal growers about the drift caused by their treatments. No prior registration is required.

The 62nd edition of the Feria Nacional del Campo (National Countryside Fair) will begin on June 26 in Manzanares. It is a meeting point for the sector with more than 42 million euros in merchandise on display and a program of more than forty activities including technical conferences, tastings of agricultural and food products, workshops and competitions, with the participation of more than 204 exhibitors. Opening and activities Fercam will open its doors at 10:00 on Wednesday 26 June, with the official opening at 11:30. During the five days of the fair, visitors will be able to enjoy a varied and attractive programme for all audiences. The technical conferences, organised by agricultural companies and associations, will address topics such as: Mobility Innovation and digitalization Resource optimization. Tastings of agricultural and food products are also a common attraction and are in high demand by the public. Children's Prizes and Activities The National Countryside Fair will award prizes to the best agricultural and food products in the wine, Manchego cheese and olive oil competitions. For the little ones, Fercam offers activities such as 'Livestock for a day', 'Chefs for a day', a children's honey tasting and a healthy breakfast. This year, Repsol is presenting new free workshops for all ages, such as agroecological urban gardens, building wind generators, composting and building solar cars.
