Once again, the fruit conference will be held, focusing on sustainable apple production and featuring presentations by leading international experts in the sector. From February 26 to 28, 2025, the AGROALNEXT25 congress: Innovation and Transfer in the Spanish Agri-Food Sector will be held, based at the Miguel Hernández University, on its Orihuela campus. On January 15, 2025 , the horticulture sector has a key date with the conference entitled “Innovation and Challenges in Horticulture” , an event that will bring together experts, companies and professionals in a forum for the exchange of knowledge. The conference, organized by Tierras Agricultura magazine and Grupo Interempresas, will be held in an environment designed to foster connections between the main players in the sector. Program of the day 09:00 - Opening: The event will begin with a welcome by Ángel Pérez, Director of the Agricultural Area of Grupo Interempresas , and representatives of Banco Sabadell and SOAGA , under the moderation of Alejandro de Vega, Editorial Coordinator of Tierras Agricultura . Block I: Trends in the horticulture sector This first block will start at 09:30 with the presentation by SOAGA, followed by Enrique Cadiñanos, from Bejo Ibérica, who will address the importance of seed quality in horticultural varieties. On December 17, the Ernest Lluc Hall of the Ministry of Health will host a conference organized by the Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) on various aspects of the control of Listeria monocytogenes in food and the challenges it poses for food safety. The 1st National Meeting of Young People and Hosts participating in the Cultiva Program will take place in Madrid on November 27. This program promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food provides young people from rural areas with access to on-site training, guided by the managers of model farms, examples of good practices and the implementation of innovation in the sector. In order to bring together the participants of the CULTIVA Programme (young people, hosts of model farms and management entities) from the 2020 to 2023 editions, and to create a network among all of them to discuss this initiative and the generational change in the agricultural sector, this meeting will take place, which will include discussion panels and activities that promote the exchange of experiences.
