The upcoming edition of the Expoliva International Scientific, Technical and Knowledge Transfer Symposium , which is being held for the twenty-second time within the framework of EXPOLIVA 2025, is consolidating its position as the main meeting point for researchers, technicians, and professionals in the world of olive groves and olive oil. Organized by the Olive Grove Foundation, the event will address the challenges and opportunities of the sector with a firm commitment to sustainability, health, and innovation. With more than three decades of history, this forum has become a benchmark for knowledge exchange and the promotion of advanced technologies in the olive oil sector. The 2025 edition will also be notable for the participation of several operational groups that will showcase their results during the symposium. These include the GO Simbioliva (Simbioliva Group) in a dedicated program space, along with innovative projects for the olive and olive oil sectors. The symposium thus reaffirms its role as a platform of excellence for connecting science, technology, and sustainable development around olive oil, a cornerstone of the Mediterranean diet and an economic engine for many regions. Expoliva 2025: The great event for the global olive sector The International Olive Oil and Related Industries Fair, Expoliva, is celebrating its 22nd edition from May 14 to 17. This event, considered the most important in the sector worldwide, aims to boost the olive oil economy by promoting trade between producers and consumers. With an estimated attendance of 50,000 professionals at each edition, Expoliva is not only a commercial showcase but also a leading forum in key areas such as research, health, and technology applied to olive groves. Throughout the fair, conferences, seminars, and scientific meetings will be held to address the sector's challenges and opportunities. Key topics of Expoliva 2025: Smart agriculture and its impact on production. Utilization of olive by-products for a circular economy. Quality and innovation , essential elements for the competitiveness of olive oil. Internationalization and export , keys to market expansion. Strengthening domestic consumption by promoting the olive oil culture. Gastronomy and new trends in cooking with olive oil. Reform of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and its implications for the sector. Environment and sustainability , the priority focus of this edition. Conference on Brassica Carinata Cultivation in Blancas (Teruel)

The Teruel town of Blancas will host a transfer event focused on the cultivation of Brassica Carinata , an oilseed plant with great potential as a sustainable agricultural alternative and source of biomass. The event, which will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., will feature the participation of Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias de Aragón , Cereales Teruel Sociedad Cooperativa, and Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias de España , who will present the European CARINA project . This initiative seeks to promote and encourage the cultivation of carinata in rural areas as a viable and environmentally friendly option. During the event, key aspects related to the agronomic management of carinata will be discussed, its evolution during the current campaign will be analyzed, and a farmer will share his experience with this crop. The activity is aimed at farmers , technicians, and agricultural professionals interested in incorporating innovative and sustainable crops adapted to the conditions of the Aragonese region. About the CARINA project Funded by the European Union's Horizon Europe program, the CARINA project focuses on the development of emerging crops such as carinata and camelina. These oilseeds stand out for their low impact on indirect land use change (ILUC) and their suitability for generating sustainable raw materials for the bioeconomy. In addition to its applications in the production of oils and biobased products such as bioplastics, bioherbicides, and biostimulants, the project also contemplates the use of crop byproducts, such as protein-rich meal for livestock use and valuable compounds extracted from the mucilages and glucosinolates present in the seeds.

On May 16 , the Simbioliva project will be presented at the 22nd International Scientific-Technical and Transfer Symposium Expoliva , where it will also have an informative poster on display, consolidating its position as one of the outstanding initiatives in terms of innovation and sustainability for the olive sector. The presentation will take place in IFEJA's Guadalcotón room , between 11:30 and 11:45 , as part of the session dedicated to R&D&I projects from the Agro-Food Cooperatives of Andalusia . César Díaz will be in charge of presenting Simbioliva, representing the organization. Simbioliva focuses on the valorization of olive byproducts through sustainable processes, reinforcing the sector's commitment to the circular economy and environmental efficiency. Its presentation is part of the official Expoliva program, a key event for highlighting the advances that will shape the future of olive oil.

Fruit Attraction 2025, with new pavilions and sectorization

Fruit Attraction 2025 , which will be held from September 30 to October 2 , marks a significant milestone in its history by consolidating its position as the world's leading trade fair for the fruit and vegetable sector . In its 17th edition, the event organized by IFEMA MADRID and FEPEX strengthens its leadership with a strategic expansion and new segmentation that will optimize the experience for exhibitors and visitors . With the addition of Halls 12 and 14 at the Madrid venue, Fruit Attraction 2025 not only increases its exhibition space to over 70,000 m2 but also improves the organization of the fair with a more efficient distribution by geographic region . This new approach will allow industry professionals to more quickly locate producers and suppliers in each country and region , facilitating the creation of new synergies and business opportunities . This event is expected to be the most significant to date , offering a more convenient, accessible, and enriching experience for all participants. Fruit Attraction 2025 will occupy 10 pavilions at IFEMA MADRID—halls 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, and 14—where products, solutions, new varieties and formats, research, trends, and innovations from more than 2,200 participating companies will be presented. The odd-numbered pavilions will showcase the latest from national companies , as well as proposals from the Innova&Tech area (Pavilion 5). The even-numbered pavilions will showcase the latest from European companies (Pavilion 4, 6 and 8), individual companies operating in the global market (Pavilion 8 and 10), America (Pavilion 12), and Africa and Asia (Pavilion 14). The Fresh Food Logistics area will be located in Hall 4. In addition, to complete the exhibition offering, most pavilions will feature the Auxiliary Industry area, ensuring representation of the entire sector's value chain at Fruit Attraction. The fair, organized by IFEMA MADRID and FEPEX, will be held at the fairgrounds from Tuesday, September 30th to Thursday, October 2nd, from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and until 4:00 p.m. on the last day.

xpoFare 2025, the Guadalquivir Valley Irrigation Agriculture Fair

ExpoFare 2025, the Guadalquivir Valley Irrigation Agriculture Fair, will take place from 23 to 25 October 2025. Organised by the Fuente Palmera Town Council , its objectives include presenting innovative solutions for irrigated agriculture and water resource management and enabling the exchange of experiences and cooperation between irrigation communities . For this reason, among the aspects that will be addressed by its activities and exhibitors are innovation and technology at the service of irrigation efficiency. In this sense, its strategic alliance with, among other organisations, Andalucía Agrotech (Digital Innovation Hub) stands out . The 2025 edition will feature notable new features such as: 1. New exhibition space. This year, ExpoFare will move to the Multipurpose Centre of the Chacón Industrial Estate , a larger and more accessible space that will facilitate the exchange of knowledge and the establishment of new business relationships. 2. More than 1,200 exhibitors (420 of them foreign) on an exhibition area of more than 100,000 square metres, attracted 167,564 visitors at its last edition, from 54 different countries.
