European Young Farmers Congress 2025: “Young Farmers – Toward a Prosperous Future for Farming in Europe” (#ReFarmEU)

The next European Young Farmers Congress will be held on 19 November at the European Parliament under the theme “Young farmers: toward a prosperous future for farming in Europe” , bringing together MEPs, institutional representatives, and young farmers from across the European Union to discuss the future of European agriculture.
This international meeting was launched in 2012 at the initiative of MEP Nuno Melo and the Portuguese Farmers' Confederation (CAP) . It is now supported by ASAJA , the European People's Party (EPP) Group , and numerous representatives of the European Parliament. The conference aims to promote the strategic role of young farmers , rural innovation , and generational renewal in European agriculture .

2:45 p.m. – Institutional welcome

3:00 PM – Opening speech
By Roberta Metsola , President of the European Parliament.
3:15 p.m. – Speech by EPP President Manfred Weber .
3:30 p.m. – Presentation of inspiring technologies , showcasing real-life examples of agricultural innovation in Europe.
3:50 p.m. – Speech by Peter Meedendorp , President of the European Council of Young Farmers (CEJA) .
4:00 p.m. – Break and participatory activity.
4:30 p.m. – Live debate with the European Commissioner for Agriculture and Food , Christophe Hansen , along with delegations of young farmers from different countries, with a Q&A session.
5:30 p.m. – Institutional interventions
Luís Mira , secretary general of CAP , and Pedro Barato , president of ASAJA , will deliver a joint message on the common challenges facing the European agricultural sector.
5:40 p.m. – Innovative Project Awards Ceremony
Initiatives will be recognized in three categories:
- Best Digital Project
- Best Energy Efficiency Project
- Best Social Commitment Project
5:55 p.m. – European Young Farmer of the Year Award
6:00 p.m. – Official closing
6:30 p.m. – Reception and networking cocktail party.
