Workshop on Agricultural Testing
Description
The PAC Network, belonging to the General Subdirectorate of Agricultural Policy Planning of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA), is organizing the Conference on Agricultural Test Spaces on December 12, in person, at the Palau Castell de Betxí (Castellón), in collaboration with the Network of Agricultural Test Spaces and the General Subdirectorate of Rural Environment Promotion of the MAPA.
An agricultural test space is generally defined as a programme to facilitate the progressive processes of installing new peasants in the agricultural sector, coordinated through structured governance agreed upon by all the agents involved. These spaces are coordinated through shared governance where a promoting entity leads the process of structuring the physical, legal and comprehensive supports that each agricultural test space needs. For this purpose, there are different types of territorial entities that provide this structure, such as cooperatives, Local Action Groups and City Councils. Each of these entities has the potential to conceive and implement agricultural test spaces from the diversity of different backgrounds and capacities.
The objectives of the day areꓽ
- To promote the Agricultural Test Spaces as a very useful tool for the incorporation of new farmers into the sector and for generational change.
- Introduce the Network of Agricultural Test Spaces.
- Reflect on the potential of different rural agents in the development of new Agricultural Test Spaces, especially Cooperatives, Local Action Groups and Town Councils.
- Learn first-hand how an Agricultural Test Space works.
The event is aimed at agricultural cooperatives, local action groups, rural development associations and local administrations and town councils.
REGISTRATION . Attendance at the event is free of charge. Registration is required to attend the event, until 12:00 noon on December 3rd.
