Description

There were several reasons why we decided to apply for this Erasmus project. One of them was to make our educational offering more attractive by including stays abroad. We also sought to improve the quality of teaching at our school and achieve better academic results. We also aim to continue with new Erasmus projects, as we began a project of this level in 2018.

Description of activities

First, during the presentation of the new academic year, students were informed about the project and its activities, emphasizing previous mobility opportunities and the possibilities for new partners. Subsequently, the mobility opportunities were announced, and a selection committee was formed for the mobility opportunities offered in the different calls. A selection committee was formed, consisting of the school director, the Erasmus coordinator, the head of the English department, and two students. Partners were contacted to finalize the details of the work program and possible mobility dates. The necessary documentation was prepared: scholarship agreements, work programs, and quality agreements. Preparatory meetings were held with the selected participants, where they were informed about the company that would host them, the activities to be carried out, the types and times of meals, the country's customs, and punishable behaviors.

They were also informed about the necessary documentation and the procedure to obtain it: passport, European Health Insurance Card, and exit permit for minors. A meeting was also held with the families to inform them about the details of the mobility and address any questions they might have. Medical, accident, and civil liability insurance was purchased. The following mobility trips were carried out: Portugal, Poland, and France. Due to COVID-19, mobility trips to Germany and Poland had been planned, but they did not take place. Furthermore, the mobility trip to Portugal had to be shortened due to the state of emergency declared by the Spanish government. Some expenses (insurance) were reimbursed, but we were charged for other administrative costs. Each mobility trip has been publicized within and outside the center, on the website, at student fairs, and on social media.

  6. Learn about other leading working methods in the agroforestry sector.
  7. Discover new market niches.
  8. Learn how dual vocational training works in other countries.
  9. Gain a greater number of contacts through mobility that could lead to new future partners.
  10. Improve the image of a bilingual educational center, with international mobility.
Results

The dropout rate has decreased, which has made the courses more attractive, especially in basic vocational training. We have improved linguistic (foreign language), communication, and social skills, and students consider it a useful tool in their daily lives. We have increased job opportunities for students, as they consider Europe a close place to find work. Their culture has been enriched by the culture of other European countries and by the European values of unity, friendship, effort, and achievement. They have learned about alternative working methods in the agroforestry sector, different from those used in each participant's area. We have enhanced the image of our school through international mobility. We have improved the work environment and the friendship among participants.
