Description

The first step toward participating in this project was discussed at our department meeting, as several companies expressed interest in having our students do internships in their offices, both in our region and abroad. We subsequently met with the director, who agreed to our request. We formed a team with the project coordinator and some collaborating professors to meet with the participating companies. The companies and the team coordinator agreed on the professional profile of the participating students, the offices and locations, activities, objectives, and more. We also took into account the great enthusiasm shown by our students for learning and working abroad. Possible activities would include shadowing technicians in their daily work, daily management and improvement of gardening and agricultural areas, internships related to auxiliary wildlife, certification of agricultural products, and other activities, which will be detailed by each participating company.

The project's sustainability is guaranteed, as companies increasingly demand this type of professional profile. They want students to learn directly on their land, in their countries, in their offices, and in their headquarters. Furthermore, Almería's agricultural production has been a world leader in this field for decades and has managed to adapt and grow in quality simultaneously. Our students are a prime example of this, demonstrating their interest in learning and growing professionally and personally. The future of our province is linked to multinational companies and the human resources adapted to them. This project, therefore, contributes to the future of the province. Our institute offers vocational training to give many students, who would otherwise be unemployed or with few job opportunities, the opportunity to develop a career and realize their dreams.

Objectives

The main objective of this project is to provide these companies with qualified professionals who can work both in Spain and abroad. Another objective is to give our students the opportunity to put into practice everything they've learned during their two years of vocational training with us. If they are offered this opportunity abroad, after studying languages for many years, they will also be able to develop their linguistic and social skills.

Our goal is to provide eight of our students, who are taking the organic agricultural production or gardening modules, with the opportunity to complete their mandatory workplace training (FCT Workplace Training) at companies in the Netherlands, France, and Germany. These companies have offices in our area and have collaborated with us for the past few years. The students range in age from 17 to 35. They have excellent academic results, excellent foreign language skills, and are very interested in learning from the experience of working abroad.
