Description

This Operational Group was created with the aim of promoting pistachio cultivation in Spain as a highly profitable, competitive, and sustainable alternative through the transfer of knowledge and technology directly to farmers and technicians.

Objectives
  • Establish an Operational Group for Sustainable and Quality Pistachio Production in Spain.
  • To provide a comprehensive diagnosis of the pistachio production sector.
  • Access to affordable tools for: Identifying pistachio rootstocks and varieties and consulting quality agroclimatic information to assess the suitability of pistachio cultivation at the plot level.
  • To transfer to farmers and technicians: Knowledge and experience regarding good agricultural practices for quality pistachio production; available technology for identifying rootstocks and varieties; and consulting agroclimatic information in different geographic areas of Spain.
  • To publicize the PISTACIA Operational Group and its objectives.
