Valorization of woody scrub from clearing and clearing of deforested land for energy uses

This Operational Group was created with the intention of finding a solution for the use of woody scrub with three objectives: to avoid the risks and environmental damage caused by fires and to ensure that clearing and cleaning work can be a solution to this situation by acting in areas or in strips, leaving part of the surfaces uncleaned, avoiding the excessive growth of the scrub and at the same time managing the control of the areas to make it compatible with other activities such as hunting or the conservation of certain habitats that would be rejuvenated and more protected; the valorisation and use of this resource obtained from clearing and cleaning work and it is in this sense that work has already been carried out for years to use this scrub for possible commercial purposes, part of this scrub for the production of gardening material or enclosures of urban plots, parasols and shade areas in car parks, covers in some cases of nursery or seedbed areas, etc. and achieve a new use of the woody part, with a height between 1.5 and 2.5 metres and diameters between 4 and 8 cm, which can be used as wood chips in boilers, with the possibility of developing small biomass installations that generate services in municipalities and small towns at the level of distribution of that heat and/or energy.
