  • Execution 2016
  • Assigned Budget 6.000,00 €
  • Scope Autonómico
  • Autonomous community Galicia
  • Main source of financing PEPAC 2014-2020
Objectives

The objective of this Operational Group is the study and implementation of silvopastoral systems for the control of scrubland with livestock, with the aim of managing biomass and creating firebreak areas that prevent the spread of fire in the O Xurés natural park, while allowing extensive livestock production.

This association aims to study and resolve common problems of those associated with the agricultural and livestock sector, the rural environment and the social life of the province of Orense. Most of the province is defined as a high-risk fire zone in the Galician forest fire prevention and defence plan, which represents a serious threat to both the population and the natural and economic resources of the province. The aim is to try to reduce the impact of fire by turning its prevention into a source of resources for the area's livestock farmers.
