The objective of this work is to understand the potential of different local varieties or ecotypes of chickpeas of Andalusian origin. The lines have been characterized and evaluated in different potential growing environments. The document presents the results of the characterization, as well as the average yield values of each ecotype for the environments where they were evaluated, compared to a conventional control variety. The overall conclusion is to highlight the great potential of the chickpea ecotypes studied, both as gene donor parents for plant breeding programs and for direct use as conservation varieties.
