The objective of this technical workshop is to deepen knowledge of the mechanisms that facilitate soil improvement, the factors that increase organic matter, understand how they work and how we can enhance them, as well as point out which practices can be negative. The results of studies on vineyard soil management, carried out by INCAVI, will be presented with the aim of defining sustainable strategies that promote the quality of grapes and wine. IRTA will consider introducing new molecular analysis technologies that allow us to understand soil biology, better understand how it works, and improve its management. Furthermore, the natural mechanisms that plants use to obtain nutrients and other benefits through active exchanges with soil microbiology will be presented. PROGRAM | REGISTRATION

This talk presents the changes that living and inert covers generate in agricultural soils for permanent crops, such as olive groves and vineyards. Special emphasis is placed on the measurement and monitoring of the hydrological properties of the soil, complemented by aspects of soil fertility and biology; case results will be offered both for Aragon and other communities. With the data obtained, it is possible to achieve better agronomic management, which is essential for environmental sustainability, to optimize management, resources and to boost the profitability of farms. 14:00 h. The 13th edition of the World Rabbit Congress will be held from 2 to 4 October in Tarragona PROGRAM

This event, organised by the Technological Corporation of Andalusia (CTA) and Cajamar , will discuss the needs of the varietal improvement sector. In addition, new tools based on gene editing will be presented. The aim is also to support potential collaborative business R&D&I projects whose results, in the medium term, could be included in the New Genomic Techniques (NGT) regulation, currently under negotiation in the European authorities. In recent years, regenerative agriculture has been frequently discussed as a work strategy to improve soil health by recovering its organic matter content and biodiversity. It improves resilience to climate change, sequesters carbon in the soil and expands the ecosystem services associated with agriculture. This webinar will address the advantages of incorporating organic matter into soils , the principles of regenerative agriculture, as well as various examples of its application in our country. We will have the participation of experts who have worked in these areas and have developed specific projects. The webinar, which will introduce regenerative agriculture, is part of a series of sessions to be held in January and February 2024 focusing on soil management practices on farms.

The Chair of Agri-Food Cooperatives, in collaboration with the Generalitat Valenciana, Agro-Food Cooperatives of Spain and the C. Valenciana, organizes on June 16 in Paterna (Valencia), from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., a conference on direct land management by agri-food cooperatives.
