Cultiva, the largest demonstration event for extensive crops in Spain

Demonstration and dissemination of tools for digital transformation in citrus (Demofarm)

On April 29 , the Mogollón farm, located in La Rinconada (Seville) , will host a demonstration event organized by the Andalusian Regional Government 's Demofarm project. The event seeks to be a catalyst for the renewal of the field, exploring how the latest technological trends and scientific advances can optimize production, improve sustainability, and open new paths to profitability. In this endeavor, the role of young entrepreneurs is fundamental. They will be the key players, capable of identifying market niches, developing differentiated products and services, and building resilient and prosperous businesses. It is organized by the Córdoba Technology Park, together with the Higher Technical School of Agricultural and Forestry Engineering (ETSIAM), the International Chair of Artificial Intelligence and Agriculture - CIIAA and the Chair of Agricultural and Food Innovation of the Caja Rural del Sur Foundation, of the University of Córdoba, with the collaboration of the Acelera Pyme Office of CETEMET, the Cajamar Foundation and Yara Iberian. At the opening roundtable, expert voices such as agri-food journalist Elisa Plumed and established professionals from companies such as Covap, Yara Iberian, Almazaras Industriales and Fundación Cajamar will present the business and professional development opportunities offered by the agri-food sector . PigStun Project Webinar - Spain: Presentation of four alternatives to CO2 stunning

The PigStun* project aims to encourage EU pig slaughterhouses that use high concentrations of carbon dioxide to stun pigs to adopt more welfare-friendly systems by testing the technical specifications and feasibility of four promising alternatives. During this webinar, the following alternatives will be presented: argon reconditioning system, helium system, optimized CAS process, and improved electrical stunning system. A description of the system will be provided, along with the advantages and disadvantages of these alternatives and their impact on the economy, the environment, labor, and animal welfare. During the webinar there will be time for questions and discussion. PigStun is the beneficiary of a grant agreement signed with the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) under the Single Market Programme – Food Strand, aiming to improve pig welfare. The BIO4TRACE Operational Group is present at FIGAN with a specialized conference on native pig breeds.

On March 26th, from 12:00 to 14:00, the International Fair for Animal Production (FIGAN) will host the presentation of the BIO4TRACE Operational Group , an innovative project aimed at traceability and sustainability in pork production. The event will feature an introduction to the project and presentations by the participating associations. A roundtable discussion will then be moderated by Guillermo Ramis of the University of Murcia , with the participation of representatives from the Celtic Pig Breeders Association, the Associated Breeders of the Chato Murciano Pig Breeders Association, and the Black Canary Pig Breeders Association. The discussion will address the challenges and opportunities of breeding and traceability of these native breeds. At the end of the day, attendees will be able to enjoy a tasting of products derived from these pork varieties, highlighting the quality and diversity of national production. Industry professionals, researchers, and representatives of livestock associations are expected to attend.
