Since 1985, the AIDA Animal Production Conference has become the reference forum in the Spanish-speaking world for the exchange of scientific and technical advances of interest among professionals and researchers in Animal Production. This 21st edition brings two important new features. Firstly, the meeting will be held at a new venue, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Zaragoza. Secondly, a new section dedicated to precision livestock farming is being incorporated, which is added to the usual ones (genetics, nutrition/feeding, livestock systems/economics and management, reproduction, animal health and welfare and product quality).

For the past two and a half years, the LIFE BIOBEST project consortium has conducted extensive research and analysis to identify key enabling conditions, models, and strategies for biowaste management to thrive in Europe and close the biological cycle gap through the consistent use of high-quality compost and digestate in soils. From June 10 to 12, 2025, CIHEAM Zaragoza will host the International Symposium "Empowering Women through Innovation in Mediterranean Agri-Food Systems." Organized by CIHEAM Zaragoza and the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), with the collaboration of the CIHEAM General Secretariat and the support of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), the event will bring together representatives of international organizations such as FAO, IFAD, OECD, the European Commission, ICARDA, and IWMI, as well as entrepreneurs, researchers, and members of civil society and the private sector.
