The "5 a day" Association is holding its 17th "5 a day" Professional Conference under the motto "Transforming the consumption of the future: health, fruit and vegetables". The event will take place in Madrid, on March 7 at 9:30 a.m., at the Mercamadrid Administrative Center. All sectors of the agri-food sector are invited to a day full of knowledge, networking and new opportunities.

Organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development of the Andalusian Government in collaboration with Fresón de Palos , the Demofarm demonstration day on "Demonstration and dissemination of tools for digital transformation in strawberries" will take place on March 6 at the Andalusian Cooperative Society Santa María de La Rábida, Fresón de Palos. Once again, the fruit conference will be held, focusing on sustainable apple production and featuring presentations by leading international experts in the sector. The talks will cover key aspects such as the role of chill hours, the latest innovations in plant material, improving fruit quality and control strategies for Halyomorpha halys and Glomerella. This is a relevant opportunity to acquire advanced knowledge and share experiences with other professionals in the sector. Part of the information corresponds to the demonstration activity “ClimaFruit: Effects of climate change on apple and pear cultivation in Catalonia throughout the 21st century”, an activity co-financed by the EU through intervention 7201 of PEPAC 2023-2027. Technical Conference "Results obtained in the study of fertigation in strawberry, raspberry and blueberry crops. Campaign 23/24" (IFAPA Huelva, November 28, 2024) in which the book " Strawberry varieties in Huelva: a century of history (1923-2023)" will also be presented.

On October 30th, a technical conference will be held focused on pistachio cultivation, where key issues to optimize its production and management will be addressed. The opening presentation will be given by Julián Guerrero, agricultural technical advisor of OMNIApistacho, who will talk about the present and future of pistachio cultivation, including technical and agronomic considerations. The day will continue with presentations by Dr. Raquel Martínez, from the 'El Chaparrillo' Centre (IRIAF), on sensors and new technologies applied to pistachio trees, followed by Daniele Di Raimondo from Green Has Group, who will explain how to increase production with biostimulants. Experts will also participate, such as Itamar Buisán, who will reflect on mechanized harvesting, and Estefan Araque from Agbar Agriculture, who will discuss smart pruning to improve production. On October 4th, at 9:30 am, the DiH Datalife Hub will organize a day together with Kiwi Atlántico to present its digital fruit demonstrator , implemented within the framework of the HIBA+ project . The purpose of this event is to present, at a sector level, an advanced experimental solution for monitoring and managing a kiwi fruit farm in Galicia, which could be applied to other fruit and even vegetable crops. The field day will take place at the farm located in Bonaval – Burgueira , while the talk and lunch will take place at the Nueva Colina – Tomiño hotel. In addition to the presentation of the center and the project, there will be a guided tour of the facilities , where the implemented technology can be observed in operation . The DIH DATAlife Hub is an initiative developed within the framework of the Galician Strategy for Digital Innovation Hubs, promoted by the Xunta de Galicia through the Ministry of Economy, Employment and Industry. Within the framework of the Riudoms Hazelnut Fair, on August 6, the technical conference "Approach to regenerative agriculture" will take place, organized by the Department of Climate Action, Food and Rural Agenda of the Generalitat of Catalonia and the College of Agricultural Technical Engineers of Catalonia. Although soil biology has been known for decades, it has only been in recent years that people have become aware of the damage that conventional agricultural practices have caused to the soil. Regenerative agriculture essentially consists of crop management that is very focused on the Restoring soil health with techniques that are not always easy to implement. In order to make progress in soil recovery, the first thing to do is to understand how soils work and know what tools exist. PROGRAM
