Description
Veterindustria is the Spanish Business Association of the Animal Health and Nutrition Industry. It was created in 1977 and since then we have worked to defend the interests of Spanish companies dedicated to the manufacture and/or marketing of veterinary medicines, animal health and nutrition products and nutritional additives, while at the same time we have made efforts to promote and develop this industry, which represents an essential and strategic sector for our country due to its indisputable importance for animal health, food safety and public health. Veterindustria represents practically all the companies in the sector that provide society with veterinary medicines and products intended to prevent, treat and cure animal diseases, whether they are for production or companion animals, thanks to research and the production of medicines of the highest quality, safety and efficacy to contribute to animal health and well-being, and consequently also to that of society. Our industry is one of the strategic sectors that contributes to maintaining employment with the creation of 13,300 direct and indirect jobs, while at the same time we are committed to R&D&i. Proof of this is that in 2008 the Spanish Technological Platform for Animal Health (Vet+i) was created, which, led by the Association, is already a sectoral reference in the field of national technological platforms. The animal health industry is a solid and competitive one, as demonstrated by the sector's turnover data. As representatives of the associated laboratories, Veterindustria maintains channels of communication and collaboration with the different public administrations, with the sectoral organizations of producers, veterinary professionals and the world of universities, science and business, as well as with the media, thus creating synergies that benefit the sector and society as a whole.
