Operational Group: Development of a gene bank of native fruit trees from Asvinor to improve the competitiveness of Galician fruit growing.

This Operational Group was created to develop a gene bank of native fruit trees for the Northwest Nursery Association (ASVINOR), with the aim of providing plant material transfer services to fruit producers in Galicia.

For development, the varieties currently being propagated will first be cleaned of viruses and bacteria using thermotherapy. For this purpose, the material will be requested from nurseries. Subsequently, a field of mother plants of the different varieties will be created, which will be cared for and used to obtain plant propagation material for transfer to nursery growers who request it.
