Series of seminars on the CAP at ETSIA. “Rural development interventions”

The ETSIA in Seville will host a series of seminars on the Common Agricultural Policy with various experts We would like to inform you about the holding of several seminars with qualified experts who will come to the ETSIA in Seville (Ctra. de Utrera, Km. 1) to discuss the Common Agricultural Policy , which will be open and of great interest. The first and second sessions, dedicated to “The evolution of the CAP and the current CAP” , were held on 6 and 12 March. The third session will be on Thursday, March 13. The session, which will take place from 8:30 to 10:20 a.m. in classroom 8, will focus on "Rural development interventions." Juan Antonio Jaén Téllez, Technical Advisor and Official of the Junta de Andalucía, will address this topic. Webinar to present the GO PREVINOVIC

A webinar will be held on March 18th to present the GO PREVINOVIC project , focusing on extensive livestock farming as a tool for fire control and prevention. During the session, which will be broadcast live on YouTube, the initiative's progress since its inception will be discussed. The event will open with the presentation "Extensive Livestock Farming and Fires: The PREVINOVIC Action Plan" by Ana Olaizola, senior lecturer in the Department of Agricultural and Natural Environment Sciences at the University of Zaragoza. Presentation of the main advances of the MAXI-CoberLEG Supra-autonomous Operational Group

National technical conference to present the results of the MAXI-CoberLEG Operational Group (Maximizing the benefits of cover crops through the selection of winter legume species and crop management), which will take place in person in Pontevedra and online through TEAMS. This initiative responds to a comprehensive approach that combines aspects of agrodiversity, genetic improvement, physiology, production and plant quality, and links them to the techno-economic demands and preferences of both producers and end consumers, to improve through R&D&I actions the competitiveness of a key export sector for the Spanish agri-food economy. The Supra-autonomous Operational Group MAXI-CoberLEG is made up of the Galician Business-University Foundation (FEUGA), Biological Mission of Galicia (MBG-CSIC), the Centre for Soil Science and Applied Biology of Segura (CEBAS-CSIC), the companies Masía el Carmen SL, Bio Varsella SL and the Agricultural Cooperative of Pego, Coop. EWRS 2025 - European Weed Research Society Symposium

The Symposium will take place at the Lleida Conference Centre “La Llotja”, located on the right bank of the Segre River, near La Mitjana Park, from 1 to 4 JULY 2025. New developments in weed science are geared towards achieving a balance between crop production and sustainability. In this regard, scientific research on weeds at European level is based on the EU Common Agricultural Policy and increasingly focuses on integrating new tools, methods and strategies to improve weed management. This situation could be defined by the motto of the congress: Joint approaches for sustainable weed management.
