The upcoming edition of the Expoliva International Scientific, Technical and Knowledge Transfer Symposium , which is being held for the twenty-second time within the framework of EXPOLIVA 2025, is consolidating its position as the main meeting point for researchers, technicians, and professionals in the world of olive groves and olive oil. Organized by the Olive Grove Foundation, the event will address the challenges and opportunities of the sector with a firm commitment to sustainability, health, and innovation. With more than three decades of history, this forum has become a benchmark for knowledge exchange and the promotion of advanced technologies in the olive oil sector. The 2025 edition will also be notable for the participation of several operational groups that will showcase their results during the symposium. These include the GO Simbioliva (Simbioliva Group) in a dedicated program space, along with innovative projects for the olive and olive oil sectors. The symposium thus reaffirms its role as a platform of excellence for connecting science, technology, and sustainable development around olive oil, a cornerstone of the Mediterranean diet and an economic engine for many regions. From June 10 to 12, 2025, CIHEAM Zaragoza will host the International Symposium "Empowering Women through Innovation in Mediterranean Agri-Food Systems." Organized by CIHEAM Zaragoza and the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), with the collaboration of the CIHEAM General Secretariat and the support of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), the event will bring together representatives of international organizations such as FAO, IFAD, OECD, the European Commission, ICARDA, and IWMI, as well as entrepreneurs, researchers, and members of civil society and the private sector. The symposium seeks to highlight the role of women as drivers of change toward more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient agri-food systems. A dynamic program, including lectures, roundtables, case studies, interactive workshops, and field visits, will address the main challenges and opportunities facing women in Mediterranean agriculture and rural areas. The event will also address how innovation—from digital technologies to agroecological and social solutions—can catalyze women's empowerment in agri-food systems, transforming traditional practices and promoting more sustainable and inclusive models. Highlights from the program include: High-level conferences on the latest trends in innovation applied to the agri-food sector, with a special focus on women-led approaches. Interactive workshops on technology and social innovation , designed to foster networking among women entrepreneurs, share experiences, and present pioneering projects in the agri-food value chain. Inspiring case studies of women leading technology initiatives in rural and agricultural areas of the Mediterranean. Field visits to local projects run by women, demonstrating how innovation transforms communities from the rural perspective. The symposium will also analyze the obstacles that limit women's access to technology, training, and financing, and will propose avenues for cooperation to build inclusive innovative ecosystems. In a context of climate change, resource scarcity, and digital transformation, the event is positioned as a strategic opportunity to redefine the role of women as drivers of change in Mediterranean agri-food. ExpoAgitech, The 4.0 Agricultural Fair , will hold its second edition from 28 to 30 October 2025. Following the success of its first edition, it has become a meeting point for technology transfer in the 4.0 agricultural sector. At ExpoAgritech, leading companies in the agritech sector showcase their latest innovations and new trends in machinery and equipment, post-harvest, irrigation systems, regenerative agriculture, biostimulants and biofertilizers to improve the competitiveness of the agricultural sector. For three days, Expo AgriTech 2025 brings together more than 8,000 professional visitors from the agricultural sector, farm owners, agricultural engineers, agricultural technicians, cooperatives, agricultural associations and young farmers in Malaga, in search of solutions and new technologies for a 4.0 Countryside. In addition, ExpoAgritech completes its range of solutions thanks to the AgriTech 4.0 Congress, where new challenges in the Agriculture 4.0 sector, precision agriculture, self-guided machinery, biotechnological solutions, data agriculture, and other important issues for the sector will be discussed.
