Conference on sustainable management and soil quality, within the framework of the Phos4Cycle project

The Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural World and Environment of the Government of La Rioja organizes the Sustainable management and soil quality conference, within the framework of the European project " Phos4Cycle. Monitoring of phosphates in agricultural and livestock activities for the sustainable use of soil and water, of the Interreg Sudoe program ". The Phos4Cycle project aims to develop a common strategy and action plan for the management of phosphates associated with agricultural and livestock activity in rural areas. Among the strategies evaluated in the project is the application of biochar in different crops. The use of biochar has been increasing in recent years due to the environmental benefits attributed to it. This conference will discuss how the application of biochar affects soil quality and carbon dynamics, as well as experiences of its use in different crops. The 1st National Meeting of Young People and Hosts participating in the Cultiva Program will take place in Madrid on November 27. This program promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food provides young people from rural areas with access to on-site training, guided by the managers of model farms, examples of good practices and the implementation of innovation in the sector. In order to bring together the participants of the CULTIVA Programme (young people, hosts of model farms and management entities) from the 2020 to 2023 editions, and to create a network among all of them to discuss this initiative and the generational change in the agricultural sector, this meeting will take place, which will include discussion panels and activities that promote the exchange of experiences. On Tuesday, November 26, Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias de España is organizing the eighth SIGCEX Conference, entitled 'Field notebook and digital solutions to climate change'. This session is aimed at the technical services of cooperatives that have already completed training in SIGCEX (Cooperative Geographic Information System for Farms), the staff of federations, as well as any other federated cooperative interested in participating in the C3-SIGCEX system that has not had the opportunity to complete the training until now. From November 26 to 28, 2024 , the first edition of Expo Agritech will take place in Malaga, which is presented as the first 4.0 Field Fair due to its specific focus on the implementation of new technologies in agriculture . Webinar - Robotization in outdoor agriculture

From the Observatory of Digitalization of the Spanish Agri-Food Sector , you are invited to the first session of a series of webinars on the State of Robotization in the Agri-Food Sector. The Observatory of the Digitalisation of the Spanish Agri-Food Sector is a project promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) in collaboration with Grupo Cooperativo Cajamar, developed so far with EU Next Generation funds. The title of the webinar for this first session is Robotization in outdoor agriculture and it will be held virtually on November 25 from 12:00 to 13:30 . BioCultura 2024 Madrid

On the verge of its 40th edition, BioCultura Madrid will once again show that “bio” is not/was not a fad and that it is here to stay. The fair will be held in November at the Feria de Madrid-Ifema venue. The sectors will be: Organic food; Certified eco-natural cosmetics and hygiene; Healthy home; Sustainable fashion; Eco Lifestyle; Health and Wellbeing, NGOs… It is expected that 400 exhibitors will participate and that more than 50,000 visitors will once again be expected. More than 300 activities will be held in parallel to the exhibition. Ángeles Parra, director of the fair, commented that “it would be very difficult to summarise these almost 40 years of fairs, activism, rebellion and social awareness. We have never been a fad. Time has proved us right. The future will be ecological or it will not be.”

Iberian Congress on Legumes: the foundations of agricultural and food sustainability

Within the framework of the VII AEL Conference and the II RELEG Meeting, and coinciding with the celebration, on November 13, of the World Day of the Mediterranean Diet, the University of León, together with the Spanish Association of Legumes (AEL) and the Spanish Legumes Network RELEG research network, are organizing the Iberian Congress of Legumes: bases of agricultural and food sustainability , which will take place in León. Networking for the legume sector in Spain The main objective of this event is to bring together all the actors related to the legume sector in the Iberian Peninsula, from the world of production, packaging and commercial distribution to researchers from all areas related to these crops, including quality brands and the organisations and institutions responsible for their regulation, in order to promote synergies between participants and consolidate strategic collaboration networks in this sector. The advances and problems, both new and persistent, will also be addressed, as well as the challenges facing the sector and the progress in scientific research on legumes.
