The 1st National Meeting of Young People and Hosts participating in the Cultiva Program will take place in Madrid on November 27. This program promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food provides young people from rural areas with access to on-site training, guided by the managers of model farms, examples of good practices and the implementation of innovation in the sector. In order to bring together the participants of the CULTIVA Programme (young people, hosts of model farms and management entities) from the 2020 to 2023 editions, and to create a network among all of them to discuss this initiative and the generational change in the agricultural sector, this meeting will take place, which will include discussion panels and activities that promote the exchange of experiences. IV National Congress on Groundwater Irrigation , a crucial event that will bring together irrigators and technicians from various regions of Spain, including Andalusia, Castilla-La Mancha, Catalonia, Aragon and Castilla y León. This conference will address important issues related to the management and sustainable use of groundwater, highlighting the need for an informative and constructive debate. The central theme of the event will be a series of presentations by experts in the field.

To address key issues in pigeon breeding, we will have the participation of an animal health expert from the University of Valladolid (UVA), who will share key knowledge on maintaining optimal health in birds and the facilities necessary to guarantee animal welfare and production efficiency. In addition, producers who are already engaged in this activity will present their experiences and the main challenges they face on a daily basis, providing a realistic view of the sector. Finally, the role of catering as a driver of demand for pigeons will be analysed, highlighting the interest in this product in local gastronomy and its potential as a differentiating element in the culinary offering of the region.

On Tuesday, November 26, Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias de España is organizing the eighth SIGCEX Conference, entitled 'Field notebook and digital solutions to climate change'. This session is aimed at the technical services of cooperatives that have already completed training in SIGCEX (Cooperative Geographic Information System for Farms), the staff of federations, as well as any other federated cooperative interested in participating in the C3-SIGCEX system that has not had the opportunity to complete the training until now. During the event, which will be held online, representatives of the Spanish Agricultural Guarantee Fund (FEGA) will explain the regulatory situation and clarify doubts about the incentives for the voluntary use of the digital notebook. From November 26 to 28, 2024 , the first edition of Expo Agritech will take place in Malaga, which is presented as the first 4.0 Field Fair due to its specific focus on the implementation of new technologies in agriculture . From the Observatory of Digitalization of the Spanish Agri-Food Sector , you are invited to the first session of a series of webinars on the State of Robotization in the Agri-Food Sector. The title of the webinar for this first session is Robotization in outdoor agriculture and it will be held virtually on November 25 from 12:00 to 13:30 . The objective of this webinar is to learn about the state of robotization in outdoor agriculture, as well as to discuss the current reality of this issue, its benefits and challenges, and future prospects for its mass adoption. On the verge of its 40th edition, BioCultura Madrid will once again show that “bio” is not/was not a fad and that it is here to stay. The fair will be held in November at the Feria de Madrid-Ifema venue. The sectors will be: Organic food; Certified eco-natural cosmetics and hygiene; Healthy home; Sustainable fashion; Eco Lifestyle; Health and Wellbeing, NGOs… It is expected that 400 exhibitors will participate and that more than 50,000 visitors will once again be expected. More than 300 activities will be held in parallel to the exhibition. Ángeles Parra, director of the fair, commented that “it would be very difficult to summarise these almost 40 years of fairs, activism, rebellion and social awareness. We have never been a fad. Within the framework of the VII AEL Conference and the II RELEG Meeting, and coinciding with the celebration, on November 13, of the World Day of the Mediterranean Diet, the University of León, together with the Spanish Association of Legumes (AEL) and the Spanish Legumes Network RELEG research network, are organizing the Iberian Congress of Legumes: bases of agricultural and food sustainability , which will take place in León. Networking for the legume sector in Spain The main objective of this event is to bring together all the actors related to the legume sector in the Iberian Peninsula, from the world of production, packaging and commercial distribution to researchers from all areas related to these crops, including quality brands and the organisations and institutions responsible for their regulation, in order to promote synergies between participants and consolidate strategic collaboration networks in this sector. The 2nd Congress of Agricultural Engineering, organised by the Council of Official Colleges of Technical Agricultural Engineers of Spain and the Official College of Technical Agricultural and Forestry Engineers of Catalonia, will take place on 13 and 14 November at the Higher Technical School of Agri-Food and Forestry Engineering and Veterinary Medicine of the University of Lleida. From November 13 to 14 , the VII Agri-Food Digital Transformation Forum DATAGRI 2024 will take place at the iHub La Vega Innova , an event that has become the reference in southern Europe and Latin America in terms of digital transformation and innovation in the agricultural and agri-food sectors. Generative artificial intelligence in the agricultural sector One of the central themes of this edition will be the role of generative artificial intelligence in the agricultural sector. José Luis Miguel, President of the DATAGRI Association, highlights that " generative artificial intelligence allows for the creation of more precise predictive models, facilitating informed decision-making and improving operational efficiency and sustainability." A new edition of the international agricultural and gardening machinery fair EIMA International will take place from 6 to 10 November in Bologna (Italy) . Within the framework of the First Strategic Plan for Organic Production in La Rioja, the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural World and Environment is organizing a technical and field workshop: Organic olive grove management. Experimental farm at La Grajera farm , aimed at farmers and technicians. The Regional Centre for Animal Selection and Reproduction (CERSYRA-IRIAF) is organising a course on the latest technologies applied to the genetic improvement of small ruminants. The event will take place next Monday at the CERSYRA facilities, located at Avda. del Vino 10, Valdepeñas (Ciudad Real) , and will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The aim of the course is to present the services that laboratories can offer to the livestock sector and how to adapt them to their specific needs. During the course, there will be a visit to the CERSYRA facilities, which will include the Reproduction, Molecular Genetics and Lactology departments, as well as its experimental cheese factory. The day will continue with presentations by Dr. Raquel Martínez, from the 'El Chaparrillo' Centre (IRIAF), on sensors and new technologies applied to pistachio trees, followed by Daniele Di Raimondo from Green Has Group, who will explain how to increase production with biostimulants.
