The 2nd edition of AgroMurcia will be held at the El Batel Auditorium and Conference Centre (Cartagena) on 12 and 13 March 2025, following its successful first edition in the same month in 2023. On March 5, the Lleida fairgrounds will be the setting for the second edition of the National Congress of Agricultural Service Companies. This professional event is shaping up to be a crucial meeting point to highlight and reinforce the fundamental role of service companies in the agricultural sector. Under the general name of "AGRISERVICIOS", the event will bring together leading companies and specialists in agricultural services in Lleida, providing a space for analysis and the exchange of ideas on the opportunities and challenges facing the sector. Topics such as the digitalisation of agricultural services , efficiency in the use of resources, inter-company collaboration, generational change and the role of young people in the industry, as well as technological innovations and sustainable practices that are revolutionising the sector will be addressed . As was the case in the 2023 edition in Ciudad Real, AGRISERVICIOS is a valuable opportunity to connect, learn and collaborate with other professionals committed to progress and sustainability in agriculture. During this session, the Recicland project will be presented , and theory will be taught on the environmental consequences of hazardous waste management and on the internal management of pesticide containers, broth residues, and expired or discontinued products on the farm, as well as on the management of this hazardous waste off-farm.

The 1st National Meeting of Young People and Hosts participating in the Cultiva Program will take place in Madrid on November 27. This program promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food provides young people from rural areas with access to on-site training, guided by the managers of model farms, examples of good practices and the implementation of innovation in the sector. In order to bring together the participants of the CULTIVA Programme (young people, hosts of model farms and management entities) from the 2020 to 2023 editions, and to create a network among all of them to discuss this initiative and the generational change in the agricultural sector, this meeting will take place, which will include discussion panels and activities that promote the exchange of experiences. To address key issues in pigeon breeding, we will have the participation of an animal health expert from the University of Valladolid (UVA), who will share key knowledge on maintaining optimal health in birds and the facilities necessary to guarantee animal welfare and production efficiency. In addition, producers who are already engaged in this activity will present their experiences and the main challenges they face on a daily basis, providing a realistic view of the sector. Finally, the role of catering as a driver of demand for pigeons will be analysed, highlighting the interest in this product in local gastronomy and its potential as a differentiating element in the culinary offering of the region.

The Subdirectorate General for Innovation and Digitalisation has organised a new webinar of the Observatory of the Digitalisation of the Spanish Agri-Food Sector . With this event, it resumes its series of webinars after the summer break, addressing key issues related to digitalisation in the agri-food sector. The Digitalization Observatory is an initiative promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) in collaboration with the Cajamar Cooperative Group , and is developed thanks to the Next Generation funds from the European Union . The next webinar, entitled "Application of artificial intelligence in animal health monitoring" , will be held virtually on September 25 , from 12:00 to 14:00 . It will delve into the applicability of artificial intelligence systems for monitoring and controlling health in livestock farms, exploring new opportunities to improve efficiency and sustainability in the sector. The Union of Farmers and Ranchers of La Rioja (UAGR) has organized a day dedicated to the presentation of the InnovAC-Eco Project , dedicated to studying the presence of phytosanitary residues in olive oils, originating from drifts of applications on other crops, focusing on the herbicidal active ingredient Prosulfocarb. Even if the maximum limits authorized for consumption are not exceeded, their mere presence does represent an impediment to the certification of organic oils , thus reducing their profitability. Technology to prevent drift from phytosanitary treatments Within the framework of this project, a prototype technology capable of detecting product drift in real time has been developed. The work has also served to raise awareness among cereal growers about the drift caused by their treatments. No prior registration is required.

This is the fourth and last of their series of webinars on the role of the agri-food sector in the European Union. A series of talks that focus on the more strategic vision of the sector in terms of its policies, profitability, the farms themselves and the people who are part of the sector. Transfer Day on the use of “ Digital Technologies for Irrigation Efficiency and Applications in Precision Agriculture ” within the framework of the European DATI Project of the PRIMA program, aimed at the development and validation of new technological solutions to improve irrigation efficiency in crops in the Mediterranean basin. The day presents digital technologies for irrigation efficiency and vineyard management (monitoring and use of drones) and a practical demonstration is carried out on experimental plots.
