The ETSIA in Seville will host a series of seminars on the Common Agricultural Policy with various experts We would like to inform you about the holding of several seminars with qualified experts who will come to the ETSIA in Seville (Ctra. de Utrera, Km. 1) to discuss the Common Agricultural Policy , which will be open and of great interest. The first session on “The evolution of the CAP and the current CAP” was held on 6 March. The second session will be on Wednesday, March 12, from 12:40 to 14:30, in classroom 3. Armando Martínez, Coordinator of Agriculture and Food at the Andalusian Government, will participate in this session as a speaker on the topic. On Thursday 13 March, the conference will focus on “Rural development interventions”. Juan Antonio Jaén Téllez, Technical Advisor and Official of the Andalusian Government, will address this topic. Digitalisation in the agricultural sector is a crucial challenge, especially for a wide range of small and micro-sized agricultural companies (SMEs), as well as for the state administration, which must coordinate with the Autonomous Communities and the European Union. To address key issues in pigeon breeding, we will have the participation of an animal health expert from the University of Valladolid (UVA), who will share key knowledge on maintaining optimal health in birds and the facilities necessary to guarantee animal welfare and production efficiency. In addition, producers who are already engaged in this activity will present their experiences and the main challenges they face on a daily basis, providing a realistic view of the sector. Finally, the role of catering as a driver of demand for pigeons will be analysed, highlighting the interest in this product in local gastronomy and its potential as a differentiating element in the culinary offering of the region.

The Subdirectorate General for Innovation and Digitalisation has organised a new webinar of the Observatory of the Digitalisation of the Spanish Agri-Food Sector . With this event, it resumes its series of webinars after the summer break, addressing key issues related to digitalisation in the agri-food sector. The Digitalization Observatory is an initiative promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) in collaboration with the Cajamar Cooperative Group , and is developed thanks to the Next Generation funds from the European Union . The next webinar, entitled "Application of artificial intelligence in animal health monitoring" , will be held virtually on September 25 , from 12:00 to 14:00 . The Union of Farmers and Ranchers of La Rioja (UAGR) has organized a day dedicated to the presentation of the InnovAC-Eco Project , dedicated to studying the presence of phytosanitary residues in olive oils, originating from drifts of applications on other crops, focusing on the herbicidal active ingredient Prosulfocarb. Even if the maximum limits authorized for consumption are not exceeded, their mere presence does represent an impediment to the certification of organic oils , thus reducing their profitability. Technology to prevent drift from phytosanitary treatments Within the framework of this project, a prototype technology capable of detecting product drift in real time has been developed. The work has also served to raise awareness among cereal growers about the drift caused by their treatments. No prior registration is required.
