The Trujillo Cheese Fair will be held from May 1 to 4, 2025. Four cheese-producing regions in Extremadura have been recognized as Protected Designation of Origin: Torta del Casar , La Serena , and Los Ibores , and Acehúche has just achieved this status. To showcase Extremadura's cheeses to the world since 1986, the Trujillo National Cheese Fair is held in the majestic setting of Trujillo 's Plaza Mayor over the May long weekend . The PigStun* project aims to encourage EU pig slaughterhouses that use high concentrations of carbon dioxide to stun pigs to adopt more welfare-friendly systems by testing the technical specifications and feasibility of four promising alternatives. During this webinar, the following alternatives will be presented: argon reconditioning system, helium system, optimized CAS process, and improved electrical stunning system. A description of the system will be provided, along with the advantages and disadvantages of these alternatives and their impact on the economy, the environment, labor, and animal welfare. During the webinar there will be time for questions and discussion. PigStun is the beneficiary of a grant agreement signed with the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) under the Single Market Programme – Food Strand, aiming to improve pig welfare. The PigStun consortium is comprised of beneficiaries and associated partners from the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, and Spain, including academic research partners, slaughterhouse equipment developers, and five pig slaughtering companies. The 17th edition of the International Fair for Animal Production ( FIGAN ) will take place from March 25 to 28, 2025 at the Feria de Zaragoza facilities. The Subdirectorate General for Innovation and Digitalisation has organised a new webinar of the Observatory of the Digitalisation of the Spanish Agri-Food Sector . From September 6 to 8, 2024, the XXVII PRONATURA International Rural Women's Fair will take place in Segovia , organized by FEMUR, the Spanish Federation of Rural Women.
