The European SOILGUARD project will hold its final online webinar on May 9th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This event will provide the latest update on the project's findings and results, followed by an open discussion to jointly assess overall progress over the years: from engagement strategies to knowledge sharing. As SOILGUARD draws to a close, this webinar will help us shape the project's impacts and legacy. The Spanish Society of Organic Agriculture and Agroecology (SEAE) is organizing its 2025 Technical Conference on May 9 and 10 at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Girona (UdG), in collaboration with the university's Department of Geography and the UdG Agroecology Association. The event will be broadcast live on the SEAE YouTube channel. Under the theme "Ecoterritories for Climate Resilience," the meeting will address experiences, practices, and models of sustainable agri-food production and consumption that promote resilience in territories vulnerable to climate change, from an agroecological perspective. The event on Friday, May 9, will begin with an institutional opening and a conference on the results of the EcoTerres project . Throughout the day, thematic panels will include sociopolitical barriers to resilience, rights and multi-stakeholder cooperation , and successful experiences in eco-territories. An open forum and participatory sessions with the SEAE community will also be held. Saturday, May 10, will be dedicated to technical visits to agroecological initiatives in La Vall d'en Bas, including a presentation on the impact of climate change on agricultural systems by Roberto Ruiz de Arcaute (SEAE-NEIKER), followed by a lunch featuring local products and visits to leading farms. These conferences are designed as a space for meeting and exchange among professionals, researchers, public entities, and local stakeholders committed to the agroecological transition and sustainability.

Aimed at agricultural advisors in organic farming and at people who already advise in the agri-food sector and would like to specialize in this field, IFOAM Organics Europe has organized the webinar “OrganicAdviceNetwork: Join our European network of organic advisors and learn about our activities” , which will be held on April 24, 2025 , from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (CET) . During this online session, the exchange and training opportunities—both in-person and virtual—available to members of this professional network will be presented. The Fertiberia Chair of Agro-Environmental Studies will hold its 16th conference on April 10th under the theme "Healthy Soils for Productive and Climate-Resilient Agriculture." The event, which will take place at the ETSIAAB (Educational Institute of Agriculture and Fisheries) in Madrid, seeks to explore innovative strategies and technologies that improve agricultural productivity without compromising soil health or the sector's profitability. It will feature the participation of leading experts and an institutional address by Elena Busutil , Director General of Agricultural Production and Markets at the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food . During the conference, key topics will be addressed, such as the role of carbon in agricultural soils , the importance of the microbiome for fertility , and the impact of microorganism-based fertilizers on human health. Additionally, specialists from institutions such as CEBAS-CSIC , the University of Lisbon , and the Ministry of Health will share their knowledge on biotechnology and soil regeneration. An innovative soil digitization project in Spain using artificial intelligence will also be presented. The event will conclude with a presentation by Augusto Arce , director of the Fertiberia Chair , and a cocktail reception to encourage the exchange of ideas among attendees. BioCultura, the largest fair for organic products and ecotourism in the country, will be held from 7 to 9 March 2025 at EXPOCoruña. It will bring together more than 150 exhibitors dedicated to the sectors of organic food (with more than 10,000 references), ecotourism, organic cosmetics, sustainable fashion, healthy housing, well-being, eco-lifestyle, crafts and NGOs. More than 150 activities will be held in parallel to the exhibition and it is expected to exceed 13,000 visitors.

The aim of this congress is to become a scientific and technical meeting between researchers, professionals in the agricultural sector, administrations, ecological companies and technology and is intended to become a space for analysis, by expert speakers, on the main concerns relating to the sector, as well as the study and dissemination of the regulatory developments that affect us. The objective of this technical workshop is to deepen knowledge of the mechanisms that facilitate soil improvement, the factors that increase organic matter, understand how they work and how we can enhance them, as well as point out which practices can be negative. The results of studies on vineyard soil management, carried out by INCAVI, will be presented with the aim of defining sustainable strategies that promote the quality of grapes and wine. IRTA will consider introducing new molecular analysis technologies that allow us to understand soil biology, better understand how it works, and improve its management. Furthermore, the natural mechanisms that plants use to obtain nutrients and other benefits through active exchanges with soil microbiology will be presented. PROGRAM | REGISTRATION

On January 23 at 9:30, in an online format, the presentation day of the Spanish Network of Advisors in Organic Production will take place. This initiative is linked to the European project OrganicAdviceNetwork and is open to both conventional advisors who want to get started in organic production, as well as those with consolidated experience in the sector , since it is hoped to reach the largest possible number of advisors in order to create a space to learn, share and grow together. During this session the following will be announced: The objectives and activities of the Spanish network. The possibilities for participation and the commitments to be part of it. Next steps to strengthen advice on organic production in Spain. On the verge of its 40th edition, BioCultura Madrid will once again show that “bio” is not/was not a fad and that it is here to stay. The fair will be held in November at the Feria de Madrid-Ifema venue.
