The Spanish Society of Organic Agriculture and Agroecology (SEAE) is organizing its 2025 Technical Conference on May 9 and 10 at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Girona (UdG), in collaboration with the university's Department of Geography and the UdG Agroecology Association. The event will be broadcast live on the SEAE YouTube channel. Under the theme "Ecoterritories for Climate Resilience," the meeting will address experiences, practices, and models of sustainable agri-food production and consumption that promote resilience in territories vulnerable to climate change, from an agroecological perspective. The event on Friday, May 9, will begin with an institutional opening and a conference on the results of the EcoTerres project . Throughout the day, thematic panels will include sociopolitical barriers to resilience, rights and multi-stakeholder cooperation , and successful experiences in eco-territories. An open forum and participatory sessions with the SEAE community will also be held. Saturday, May 10, will be dedicated to technical visits to agroecological initiatives in La Vall d'en Bas, including a presentation on the impact of climate change on agricultural systems by Roberto Ruiz de Arcaute (SEAE-NEIKER), followed by a lunch featuring local products and visits to leading farms. These conferences are designed as a space for meeting and exchange among professionals, researchers, public entities, and local stakeholders committed to the agroecological transition and sustainability.

Aimed at agricultural advisors in organic farming and at people who already advise in the agri-food sector and would like to specialize in this field, IFOAM Organics Europe has organized the webinar “OrganicAdviceNetwork: Join our European network of organic advisors and learn about our activities” , which will be held on April 24, 2025 , from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (CET) . During this online session, the exchange and training opportunities—both in-person and virtual—available to members of this professional network will be presented. EU Circular Talks It is an exchange project of the European Platform of Circular Economy Actors ( ECESP - European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform). Its objective is to encourage interaction and debate on circular economy topics on the platform. Stakeholders initiate topics themselves. These can take various forms: online events—workshops, seminars, debates, or Q&A sessions. Discussions then develop directly through the platform's communication channels. #EUCircularTalks uses all communication channels to inform the community and foster debate on the circular economy. The results of each EU Circular Talk are summarized and published on the ECESP platform. The next event will be a webinar on "Achieving Effective Bio-Waste Management in Europe: Key Factors and Progress One Year After the EU Mandate for Separate Bio-Waste Collection." This webinar, organized by the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform, aims to assess the state of separate collection of municipal bio-waste in Europe and discuss the measures needed to drive a true revolution in bio-waste management on the continent. The Simbioliva Operational Group plans to hold an informative presentation on April 9 at the Orujera Interprovincial Conference in Fuente de Piedra. As part of a training program run by an educational institution in collaboration with the University of Malaga (UMA) , students from the NCEC (Saudi Arabia's National Center for Environmental Control) will be visiting the Simbioliva Operational Group project. The goal is to raise awareness of the Spanish model for valorizing alperujo (a type of olive oil), as well as the various R&D&I alternatives and initiatives applied to this byproduct. This project is also presented as a benchmark for innovation in the use of alperujo (a type of olive oil), serving as an inspiration for other agricultural sectors worldwide.

Cajamar launches the second edition of the 2024 Sustainability Indicators Report for the Agri-Food Sector , prepared by the CEIGRAM (Center for the Study of the Agricultural Sector) of the Polytechnic University of Madrid. This update consolidates a pioneering publication that analyzes the sector's sustainability from an economic, social, and environmental perspective, complementing the Spanish Agri-Food System Observatory . In this new edition, the main indicators have been revised and updated, incorporating new data to improve their usefulness. During the presentation session, the report's authors will share their findings and discuss the future of sustainability in the agri-food sector. REGISTRATION

Registration for the first OrganicAdviceNetwork cross-tour: "Organic Viticulture in Italy" is open until February 25th OrganicAdviceNetwork , the knowledge exchange network between organic production advisors recently launched in Spain, is organizing its first cross-visit for advisors from Southern Europe, focusing, on this occasion, on organic viticulture and its adaptation to climate change. This visit is designed for advisors interested in organic viticulture , both those with experience and those who want to start in the sector. It will be a unique opportunity to learn about different advisory approaches , share experiences and explore strategies for adapting to climate change in organic vineyards and wineries. BioCultura, the largest fair for organic products and ecotourism in the country, will be held from 7 to 9 March 2025 at EXPOCoruña. It will bring together more than 150 exhibitors dedicated to the sectors of organic food (with more than 10,000 references), ecotourism, organic cosmetics, sustainable fashion, healthy housing, well-being, eco-lifestyle, crafts and NGOs. More than 150 activities will be held in parallel to the exhibition and it is expected to exceed 13,000 visitors.

The closing event of the Supra-autonomous Operative Group Rebo2Vino “Circular economy for the reuse of glass bottles in the wine sector: Analysis of impacts and feasibility, and design of digital tools” will take place on February 26 in Madrid, where the main results and conclusions drawn will be reviewed. The project ends in March 2025 and has lasted almost 29 months of execution, during which two pilot tests have been developed (in Catalonia and Jerez) and all the impact categories of the Life Cycle Analysis have been analysed to determine the environmental and economic viability of implementing a potential reuse model in the wine sector. In addition, the main barriers and critical points have been identified, and a series of tools have been developed that will be helpful for future implementation at a national level. The Spanish Wine Federation (FEV) has made a very positive assessment of this project, considered strategic for the sector at a national level, and which lays the foundations for continuing to advance and scale up the results at a European level. We would like to thank the General Directorate of Rural Development, Innovation and Agri-Food Training for supporting this Operational Group, whose financing through the EU Next Generation Funds has been key to the development of the project and achieving the expected results. The closing ceremony is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., followed by an aperitif during which the pilot wines will be displayed with the reusable bottle designed in the project.

The aim of this congress is to become a scientific and technical meeting between researchers, professionals in the agricultural sector, administrations, ecological companies and technology and is intended to become a space for analysis, by expert speakers, on the main concerns relating to the sector, as well as the study and dissemination of the regulatory developments that affect us. On January 23 at 9:30, in an online format, the presentation day of the Spanish Network of Advisors in Organic Production will take place. This initiative is linked to the European project OrganicAdviceNetwork and is open to both conventional advisors who want to get started in organic production, as well as those with consolidated experience in the sector , since it is hoped to reach the largest possible number of advisors in order to create a space to learn, share and grow together. During this session the following will be announced: The objectives and activities of the Spanish network. The possibilities for participation and the commitments to be part of it. Next steps to strengthen advice on organic production in Spain. This forum is an event that brings together experts in agricultural innovation to discuss new technologies, sustainable agricultural practices and advances in the field of biotechnology applied to agriculture.

The objective of the RENOWAGRO meetings is to present, on behalf of all the agents involved in the agri-food sector, the challenges and opportunities that this sector faces in the era of sustainability , and how the vision of the circular bioeconomy in the management of organic resources can allow for greater economic, environmental and social profitability for the sector and the economy in general. The event has become a benchmark space where best practices and the latest innovations that impact the sustainability of the sector are shared, not only from an environmental perspective, but also from an economic and social one.

CARINA is a four-year transnational Innovation Action (until October 2026), supported by the European Union under the Horizon Europe programme. The project focuses on new sustainable and diversified agricultural systems, including two new oilseed crops, carinata and camelina, capable of providing multiple low-iLUC feedstocks for the bio-based economy.
