This is the fourth and last of their series of webinars on the role of the agri-food sector in the European Union. A series of talks that focus on the more strategic vision of the sector in terms of its policies, profitability, the farms themselves and the people who are part of the sector. On June 25, the day will take place that addresses an open debate on the role of innovation and new technologies . 2023 call for the National Innovation and Design Awards (until June 15)

The Ministry of Science and Innovation has published the 2023 call for the National Innovation and Design Awards . The total budget of the awards increases in this edition to 160,000 euros and the call includes, for the first time, the 'Young innovative talent' modality, aimed at people under 36 years of age. These awards are Spain's most important recognition in the fields of innovation and design and distinguish people and entities that have made innovation an indispensable element in the development of their professional strategy and business growth. Likewise, they distinguish professionals and companies that have contributed significantly to increasing the prestige of Spanish design and entities that, incorporating it into their business strategy, have demonstrated that design is a powerful lever of innovation and competitiveness. According to Order CIN/186/2023, of February 21, which establishes the regulatory bases for the granting of the National Innovation and Design Awards, natural persons with full capacity to act, who can be candidates, may be candidates. They have Spanish nationality or are residents in Spain and legal entities that have at least one permanent establishment in Spain, validly constituted. The following categories are included within the innovation awards: National Innovation Award in the 'Innovative Career' modality, aimed at people with a career of at least fifteen years in which innovation has been one of the relevant characteristics. National Innovation Award in the 'Large Innovative Company' category, aimed at large companies with innovative activity for at least fifteen years. National Innovation Award in the 'Small and Medium Innovative Enterprise' modality, aimed at small and medium-sized companies with demonstrated innovative activity of at least five years. National Innovation Award in the 'Young Innovative Talent' category, aimed at people with demonstrated innovative potential, whose age does not exceed 35 years. National Design Award in the 'Career in Design' category, aimed at design professionals with a career of at least fifteen years of recognized prestige in the sector. EXCHANGE OF LEADER EXPERIENCES: RURAL WOMEN IN THE AREAS OF CONCILIATION, CO-RESPONSIBILITY, GENDER PERSPECTIVE, SOCIAL ECONOMY AND SUSTAINABILITY

Connect with Rural Development Description Background and context The National Rural Network (RRN) is focusing its Action Plan these months on the issue of women, through a series of activities designed to respond to the needs detected through: interviews with territorial agents, survey carried out with rural women , and two meetings of the Thematic Group “Rural Women 2022”, held on May 17 and 18 , 2022; with the aim of identifying their main problems and needs. Through these detected needs, as well as information collected in other activities and conferences of the NRN, the following topics of great interest have been considered to be addressed in this day of exchange of LEADER experiences around rural women: Bioeconomy and sustainability Conciliation, co-responsibility and gender perspective Social economy with a gender focus Likewise, these themes are considered transversal factors that directly influence the viability of sustaining life in rural areas. Exchange objectives Learn about experiences of projects led by women, both LEADER projects and other inspiring experiences, in relation to conciliation and co-responsibility, gender perspective, social economy and sustainability. Reflect on the opportunities that the new social, economic and environmental scenarios represent for rural development, and the determining role of rural women in these new scenarios. Identify actions to develop in rural regions that combine the promotion of women, the socioeconomic progress of populations and environmental sustainability. Target audience Local action groups (technical staff, managers and associates), public administrations, social, cultural and economic action entities, and anyone who is interested in the role of women as a driver of rural development.
