Second field day on conservation agriculture in extensive crops, in Albacete/Valencia

The Spanish Association for Conservation Agriculture Living Soils (AEACSV) will hold a second free field day on conservation agriculture in extensive crops in September. This event will be held on September 25 at the "Casa Roig" farm, located between Alpera (Albacete) and Ayora (Valencia). The Casa de Roig estate, with 436 hectares, of which 300 are dedicated to extensive crops and the rest to lavender and vineyards with plant cover, is a model to follow in the region. During the day, topics such as soil management, crop rotation, soil cover, nitrogen fertilization and the environmental benefits of these practices will be discussed. The event will include four thematic stations: Station 1: 30 years of direct sowing in dry and irrigated land in Albacete, by Miguel Barnuevo. Station 2: From direct sowing to ground cover, by Vicente Bodas, agricultural director at Agrisat. Station 3: Farmer experiences, from theory to practice, by Juan José Puertas, farmer and farm owner. Station 4: Private sector solutions to support direct seeding eco-regimes. Lecture series on new technologies in agriculture

Between September 12 and October 2, Miguel Hernández University has launched a series of conferences entitled "The Challenges of Agriculture: Technological Innovation and Digitalization ", which will be held in Orihuela, Elche and Pilar de la Horadada. Specifically: September 12: 19:00h. Orihuela. La Lonja. 24 September: 19:00h Elche. Congress Centre. Filet de Fora, 1. October 2: 7:00 p.m. Pilar de la Horada. Coop. Surinver. The cycle has the financial support of the Alicante Provincial Council and is organised in collaboration with the town councils of Orihuela, Elche and Pilar de la Horadada. The activity is aimed at farmers, agricultural professionals and the general public. Orihuela was the setting for the first session, which was held at La Lonja. Irrigation using soil probes, nitrate control and precision agriculture were the focus of the conferences. First open day “Promoting Innovation, Sustainability and Added Value in the Agri-Food Sector”

The first open day of the 53rd Seminar for Horticultural Technicians and Specialists will be held on September 23rd . It is organized by the Andalusian Institute for Research and Training in Agriculture, Fisheries, Food and Organic Production (IFAPA) in collaboration with COITAND and MAPA. The event will take place at the IES El Picacho , in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, and will begin at 10:30 a.m. The programme includes a presentation on premium horticulture and a historical overview of IFAPA in Chipiona, followed by several technical presentations that will address key topics such as: The short digital marketing channel in Andalusia. The registry of operators authorized to issue plant health passports. The agronomic behaviour of zucchini cultivars in Tenerife. Aspects of circular economy and the use of leachates in microalgae production. In addition, the impacts of microplastics in horticulture and their impact on health will be explored, among other topics of interest to the agri-food sector. Open AI Agrifood: Second international conference on Artificial Intelligence applied to the agri-food chain

Under the title "SembrAI: intelligence that feeds tomorrow", a play on words that refers to sowing AI as seeds are planted for the future harvest, the II International Congress on Artificial Intelligence applied to the Agri-Food Chain will be held in Córdoba between September 19 and 20. Organized by INTEC (European Foundation for Innovation and Application of Technology) in collaboration with the Andalusia Agrotech Digital Innovation Hub, and co-financed by the EU and the Andalusian Government , the event is focused on digital transformation and the impact of Artificial Intelligence in the agri-food sector . Digital transformation and use of AI in agriculture On Thursday 19 September, following the opening ceremony, there will be panels on topics such as digital transformation and the future use of AI in agriculture, with spaces such as the Call for Papers , where selected works will be exhibited, and the DemoZone , dedicated to technological demonstrations. The big agricultural advisory conference, 10-13 September, in Edinburgh

From 10 to 13 September 2024 , Edinburgh will become the capital of agricultural advice. The city will host the respective annual sessions of the three main European rural advice networks (IALB, EUFRAS and SEASN) that come together to form this major event with the motto "Adapting to zero emissions" for 2024. The School of Industrial Organization (EOI) will host the 3rd Conference to present the new grants that were announced on August 6 to stimulate learning and exchanges between regions and strengthen the Knowledge and Innovation System in Agriculture, known by its acronym in English as AKIS. Dolors Villegas Tor , a renowned CSIC researcher at the Aula Dei Experimental Station (EEAD-CSIC), will be in charge of giving the third lecture of the first cycle of CSIC lectures "What do we know about...?" in Jaca , Huesca. Villegas specializes in non-destructive selection methods in wheat, using advanced techniques such as remote sensing of temperature and spectral reflectance. These methods are essential to support genetic selection in wheat improvement programs. In addition, his research is complemented by the study of the natural variability of wheat rusts , particularly in relation to the endemic species present in Spain .
