BioCultura is celebrating its 30th edition at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona, and is witnessing the rise of organic production, sales and consumption. BioCultura, like every edition, has the firm intention of continuing to surprise visitors with the latest developments in the organic sector. The proposals are increasingly varied and make it easier for us to adopt healthy habits and consume more responsibly. BioCultura is the largest fair for organic products and responsible consumption in the state and will bring together this year some 400 exhibitors dedicated to the sectors of organic food, organic cosmetics, sustainable fashion, healthy housing, responsible tourism, renewable energy, sustainable mobility, crafts and NGOs. More than 300 activities will be held in parallel to the exhibition and some 50,000 visitors are expected.

Informative webinar for researchers of the CSIC-COCREA 2024 Call to promote projects with companies facing challenges in agri-food and circular economy REGISTRATION The CSIC COCREA 2024 programme has the specific objective of promoting public-private collaboration through the development of open innovation projects for co-creation and co-development between the CSIC and companies to promote solutions that contribute to a sustainable and healthy agri-food chain and to foster a circular economy. The programme will select 10 CSIC-business co-creation projects and each project will receive a grant of up to €50,000. In the agri-food sector , solutions will be promoted to challenges in the development of agronomic, biotechnological, agroecological, production, processing and conservation innovations that allow increasing the productivity and sustainability of our food systems (both in agricultural, livestock and fishery products); the development of innovative phytosanitary products, biostimulants, biological control agents, pheromones and attractants, and other methods of prevention and treatment of pests and diseases that affect crops of interest; the development of ingredients and functional foods with nutraceutical properties and beneficial effects for the prevention of diseases; or the valorisation of by-products and waste from agricultural industries. In the circular economy , projects will be promoted to contribute to the recovery and reduction of consumption of raw materials, critical materials and the conservation of natural resources, through the development of more efficient chemical processes that minimize the consumption of raw materials and natural resources or that contribute to the recovery of critical materials; the elimination or replacement of harmful compounds in the formulation of products; the development of raw materials from alternative sources to petroleum; systems for recycling, valorization or reuse of waste that is difficult to recycle (mainly for composite materials, plastics, electronic waste, etc.); or efficient technologies for water treatment or soil recovery that allow the increase of these natural resources. In the first phase of the programme, interested companies will present their challenges in the areas mentioned and then CSIC researchers will respond to these business challenges with their ideas for solutions. Fair that brings together the best companies in the sector, both national and international, related to the life cycle of packaging and containers

The Conference will bring together the best of agricultural and rural innovation in Europe. The objectives are: to highlight the successful implementation of the EIP-AGRI through GO projects as one of its main pillars, and to learn from this experience for the implementation of projects under the CAP 2023-2027. The conference programme will include plenary sessions with keynote speakers and interactive discussions showcasing concrete stories of relevant GOs. It will also celebrate the establishment of over 3,400 GO projects across the EU. The event will create opportunities to further disseminate and improve project results, and will help participants better understand the broader scope of topics that GOs can address during the CAP period 2023-2027. Transfer Day on the use of “ Digital Technologies for Irrigation Efficiency and Applications in Precision Agriculture ” within the framework of the European DATI Project of the PRIMA program, aimed at the development and validation of new technological solutions to improve irrigation efficiency in crops in the Mediterranean basin. The EU CAP Network workshop 'Circular water management' will take place in Seville (Spain) on Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 13 March 2024.
