On October 29, the Demofarm technical conference will be held in Andalusia, focusing on "Digital transformation tools in citrus." The event will offer participants a practical overview of the latest technologies applied to citrus cultivation , with a guided tour of Finca Mogollón , where innovative monitoring and sensor solutions have been implemented to optimize water management and pest control. Digital tools for citrus cultivation Technologies to be presented include irrigation network monitoring, digital traps for the detection of Ceratitis Capitata , soil and plant sensors, and the use of satellite imaging platforms . The Demofarm Andalucía technical team, together with Tragsatec , will guide attendees throughout the day, explaining how these tools work and their benefits for more efficient management of farms. The day will end with an assessment of the implementation of these technologies by Daniel Esquivel, a technician at CRESCASA's Finca Mogollón, who will share his experience in the digitalization of citrus cultivation. The 57th edition of the Lorca livestock, industrial and agri-food fair, SEPOR, will be held on October 28, 29, 30 and 31, 2024 in Lorca, Murcia Its programme includes the presentation of new products and solutions for the sector, as well as an extensive programme of conferences and talks.

The XXVI Technical Conference on Beef Cattle will be held on October 24 in Alcarràs , organized by the Association of Beef Cattle Farmers of the town . This meeting aims to help farmers in the region to keep up to date in an increasingly complicated market, marked by regulations such as the reduction of antibiotics, the law on livestock manure and the new CAP, which directly affects the sector. Figures such as Joan Talarn Gilabert, president of the Diputació de Lleida, and Ricard Gòdia Companys, president of Asoprovac Nacional, will be present. The event will be notable for its innovative approach , with a change in format and the inclusion of a business motivator, Emili Duró Pàmies, who will address the importance of a positive attitude and resilience in livestock productivity. In addition, key topics will be discussed, such as strategies to deal with market crises and tools to reach consumers, by experts such as Matilde Moro Valentín and Javier López López. This meeting will also analyse the impact of factors such as the entry of SIGE, QIE, and Ecoregimes, as well as the challenges arising from Bluetongue and EHE . The 3rd Catalonia Biogas Forum will take place on 24 October, as part of the European Biogas Week. Organised by the Bioenergy Cluster of Catalonia, it will address various aspects of the production and use of this energy source, showcasing various success stories and offering a space to discuss its future and build relationships between the various actors in the sector who will participate in the meeting. Until September 5, those professionals who want to get started in promoting R&D&I projects can apply to participate in the new Seminar for Advisors on R&D&I Projects of the European Union , which the CDTI is organizing between October 14 and 17, 2024. This is the 29th edition of an event aimed primarily at organisations with the capacity to participate in Horizon Europe , and specifically, at people whose main activity is supporting the participation of Spanish entities in research, technological development and innovation activities financed by the European Union through Horizon Europe and related initiatives. The aim is for participants to acquire the necessary skills to advise their researchers, their organisations or other entities in order to guide and adapt their proposals to the calls for Horizon Europe , working in a network with other organisations. Additionally, for those attendees familiar with R&D&I projects, the Seminar contributes to training them to prepare and elaborate proposals in their area of competence. The 4th meeting of the Forum on Best Practices in the Agri-Food Supply Chain will take place on 9 October at a location yet to be determined. Building on the outcomes of previous Forum meetings, this event will explore the various ways in which producers can increase yields by actively participating in the value chain. The College of Agricultural Engineers of Catalonia participates as a collaborator in the AI & Big Data Congress , which will take place between October 9 and 10, 2024 in Barcelona. Agriculture and the agri-food chain are beginning to apply this type of advanced technology and should not be disconnected from the current state and future of this area of knowledge. PROGRAM

Startup Olé , a major international event that brings together startups, investors, universities, students, companies and administrations to generate collaboration opportunities , is holding a new edition between October 8 and 10, 2024 , in various locations in the city of Salamanca . Among the areas it addresses, there is also entrepreneurship in the agricultural and agri-food sectors. Around 3,000 attendees gather around round tables, investment events or hackathons, among other activities. For example, on October 9th the round table "Innovation and sustainability in Conscious Agriculture" will take place, with two different parts. In the first part, Luis M Luengo, founder of Concious Agriculture, will participate as moderator, with the participation of Ana Digón, president of the Spanish Association of Regenerative Agriculture; David Nafria, Head of the Sativum project of the Agrarian Technological Institute of the Junta de Castilla y León; and Jesús Rodríguez, representing regenerative livestock farming in Salamanca. The second part will feature Óscar Lorenzo, president of the Unit of Excellence in Agricultural Production and Environment; Gonzalo Palomo, president of the Spanish Society of Organic Agriculture and Agroecology; and Félix del Villar, farmer and winegrower in Rueda. On October 4th, at 9:30 am, the DiH Datalife Hub will organize a day together with Kiwi Atlántico to present its digital fruit demonstrator , implemented within the framework of the HIBA+ project . The purpose of this event is to present, at a sector level, an advanced experimental solution for monitoring and managing a kiwi fruit farm in Galicia, which could be applied to other fruit and even vegetable crops. The field day will take place at the farm located in Bonaval – Burgueira , while the talk and lunch will take place at the Nueva Colina – Tomiño hotel. In addition to the presentation of the center and the project, there will be a guided tour of the facilities , where the implemented technology can be observed in operation . The DIH DATAlife Hub is an initiative developed within the framework of the Galician Strategy for Digital Innovation Hubs, promoted by the Xunta de Galicia through the Ministry of Economy, Employment and Industry. Event dedicated to showcasing the latest innovations in agricultural mechanization from various implement companies, working with Fendt tractors . Hundreds of them meet at this multitudinous meeting that in previous editions has brought together thousands of farmers interested in the latest technologies applied to production . This year, the town of Manzanares (Ciudad Real) is hosting this field demonstration.

The Andalusian Living Lab is established as an entity aimed at promoting and implementing innovative and sustainable technological solutions aimed at improving the health of olive grove soil. It is part of the European LIVINGSOILL project (Healthy Soil to Permanent Crops Living Labs) funded with 12 million euros, of which 2 million are destined for Andalusian olive groves. The University of Jaén will be responsible for coordinating this Living Lab, which also includes 15 Andalusian entities with recognised R&D&I activity related to olive growing. The programme for the presentation event includes three round tables that will focus on the following topics: Soil health, challenges and ecosystem services. Innovation projects: Utilization of olive grove by-products within the framework of the circular economy. Pilot experiences of olive oil companies aimed at improving soil health. In addition, a conference will be held on digitalisation in the olive sector.

This biennial event serves as a meeting place for researchers and professionals involved in organic waste management, in order to analyse and discuss its treatment from technical and social perspectives, highlighting the transfer of knowledge to the industrial sector. On September 27 , at the IFAPA Rancho de la Merced facilities in Jerez de la Frontera, the second open day of the seminar will be held.
