COAG organizes a conference on generational change and the incorporation of young people and women into agricultural activity

COAG will hold the "Stimulating generational change. Incorporation of young people and women into agricultural activity" conference on March 25, 2026 in Torrelavega (Cantabria), an event aimed at providing useful information and technical support to those who want to start their activity in the agricultural and livestock sector. The workshop will address key issues to facilitate the entry of new generations into agriculture and strengthen women's participation in farming. During the session, practical information will be provided on grant applications for young and new farmers and livestock breeders, application preparation, the development of feasibility plans, and the necessary documentation for processing these grants. In addition, the program will include content on the procedures for registering with Social Security and the Tax Office, the organization of taxation and the telematic technical management services provided by UGAM-COAG, as well as a space dedicated to the advisory service and the digitization of procedures and documentation. This initiative seeks to support generational change in rural areas and contribute to a more accessible, supported and adapted incorporation to the current needs of the sector. Registration is now open for AgroTech Guesálaz 2026. This event, with limited spaces, will offer practical insights into exoskeletons and sensors for agricultural applications, and will include networking opportunities with local producers. It is part of the LIDERA Program (SNE-NL) and is organized by Javier Roig, CEO of Gaiver Analytics, and UAGN. The Navarrese agri-food sector has a new date with innovation on March 25th, at an event designed to showcase technological tools applicable to agricultural businesses and foster connections among professionals. This is AgroTech Guesálaz, an event that will take place at the Guesálaz Valley Town Hall from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, as part of the LIDERA Program (SNE-NL) – all the details here – and hosted by Javier Roig, CEO of Gaiver Analytics, and UAGN. Registration is now open via this form. The event aims to provide the sector with concrete technological solutions that are already contributing to improving the efficiency, sustainability, and competitiveness of agricultural businesses. The opening remarks will be delivered by Álvaro Cirauqui, Vice President of UAGN; Javier Roig, CEO of Gaiver Analytics; and representatives from the Lidera Program. The program includes two technical presentations focused on practical cases. It will begin with Diego Arbea, CSO of Exoskeletons and Robotics at Iruña Tecnologías, who will explain how exoskeletons can reduce the physical workload and improve productivity in the agri-food sector. Next, Raúl Lara will discuss the use of sensors as a key tool for precision agriculture, showing how soil moisture sensors allow for the optimization of resources and the reduction of costs. Networking and local product After the question and answer session and closing remarks, the day will include a networking space with locally sourced snacks, designed to facilitate the exchange of experiences between attendees, speakers and industry professionals in a relaxed atmosphere. IV National Symposium of Seed Producers

Segovia hosts a meeting in March in favor of certified seeds APROSE announces the celebration of its IV National Symposium of Seed Producers under the motto 'Certified seed: sow with confidence to reap successfully' Following the success and positive reception of the editions held in Cordoba, Zaragoza and Toledo, the Seed Producers Symposium organized by the Spanish Seed Producers Association (APROSE) returns as a leading forum for seed producers throughout Spain, consolidating itself as a key space for analysis, debate and the exchange of knowledge about certified seed and its strategic role in modern agriculture. The event will once again place at the center of the debate the strategic importance of certified seed as a pillar of a more productive, sustainable agriculture, prepared to respond to the current challenges of the agri-food sector. A meeting in which the main challenges and opportunities of seed production will be analyzed, with special attention to the new European regulations, technological innovation, agriculture 4.0, genetic improvement and the sustainability of the agricultural system. It is a space for reflection and analysis that, edition after edition, brings together producers, representatives of the administration, researchers and companies linked to the seed value chain, consolidating itself as a reference forum for the sector. Alimentaria+Hostelco 2026 will return from March 23 to 26, 2026 to the Gran Via venue of Fira de Barcelona to bring together the main players in food, gastronomy, foodservice and hospitality equipment in a particularly significant edition, as it coincides with the 50th anniversary of Alimentaria . The fair is thus consolidating its position as one of the major international platforms for the entire value chain of the sector, with the expected participation of more than 3,300 companies from 70 countries and the attendance of over 110,000 professional visitors . In this context, Córdoba will host AI-AGRIFOOD 2026 , the International Congress on Artificial Intelligence in the Agri-food System, a key event for professionals in AI, data, agriculture, and agri-food innovation, on March 19 and 20, 2026 . The congress will address the role of AI applied to agriculture and food, the advanced use of data, and science to drive sustainability and efficiency "from farm to fork." AI-AGRIFOOD 2026 is envisioned as a meeting point for scientific knowledge, technological development, and real-world impact in the sector. The event is organized by the University of Córdoba , through the ENIA International Chair in Artificial Intelligence and Agriculture , in collaboration with IFAPA and IAS-CSIC . On March 19, 2026 , COAG will hold the training day “No. 54 CAP. Environmental and social sustainability objectives. Other Public Policies” in Bollullos Par del Condado (Huelva) , a session focused on the new features of the Common Agricultural Policy, its future evolution and the flexibility and support measures for the wine sector. The activity will take place at the headquarters of Vinícola del Condado SCA , located at C/ San José, 2 , and is presented as a space for updating and exchange aimed at professionals in the agricultural sector interested in learning about the most recent changes linked to the CAP and other lines of public support for the vineyard. Under the title “CAP – New Developments. Flexibility and Temporary Exceptionality. Other Vineyard Aid,” the day will be structured into two thematic blocks. The first, scheduled from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. , will address the future of the CAP , with content dedicated to the post-2027 CAP, the framework of the new agricultural policy, and its general structure. Albacete hosts free demonstration workshop on integrated agroforestry systems and carbon credits

Integrating crops, livestock, and trees in the same productive space is one of the strategies with the greatest potential to improve the sustainability and climate resilience of agriculture. With this focus, the second edition of the free demonstration workshop “Development of Integrated Agroforestry Systems: Carbon Credits” will be held in Albacete next Tuesday, March 17th. This in-person activity aims to show how agroforestry can optimize land use, improve biodiversity, and increase carbon sequestration . The workshop is part of a knowledge transfer project promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) and will have a strong practical focus. Throughout the day, the fundamentals of agroforestry systems, their environmental and productive benefits, and a design and management demonstration will be conducted to facilitate the adoption of these solutions in real-world contexts. Participants must register and send a draft of their proposals to lydia.gonzalez@cdti.es by Wednesday, March 11th (at 12:00 pm) . Only those who submit a draft of their proposals in advance will be admitted to the workshop. A minimum of one participant per coordinated proposal will be accepted, and the participation of a second participant will be considered. Those interested will be notified on the afternoon of March 11th, depending on the number of applications received. That same afternoon, or later in the day, the NCPs will schedule bilateral meetings with the participants to discuss their proposals and clarify any doubts they may have.

EU CAP Network is organizing a seminar in Brussels on the right to remain for young farmers and rural youth.

On March 11, 2026 , the EU CAP Network will hold in Brussels (Belgium) the face-to-face seminar “Ensuring the right to stay for young farmers and rural youth” , a working day focused on turning the EU Strategy for Generational Change in Agriculture into concrete actions at the national and regional level . The meeting will take place from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (CET) at the Renaissance Hotel and will be conducted entirely in English , without interpretation services. Participation is free and registration is open until February 5th. Facing the generational challenge of rural Europe European rural areas face a major demographic challenge: the average age of farmers in the EU is approaching 60 and only 12% are under 40 , while one in three rural young people consider leaving their territory due to a lack of opportunities, services and social isolation. In this context, the seminar aims to serve as a space for exchange, dialogue and the creation of alliances to advance solutions that make agriculture and rural life more attractive to new generations, aligned with the European Strategy for Generational Change. Seminar priorities and focus The event will focus on key priorities to drive change , including: Access to land and transfer of holdings Capabilities, innovation and training Attractiveness of rural areas Youth as co-protagonists in the design of public policies Through plenary sessions and youth-led Policy Labs , participants will work collaboratively on practical solutions that enable rural youth and young farmers to stay, start businesses and thrive in rural Europe . Participation and conditions Travel and accommodation expenses may be covered by the organizers only for a limited number of participants , including farmers, agricultural organizations, LEADER Local Action Groups, European and national NGOs, and research or university staff. All other attendees (public administrations, national networks, advisors, etc.) will be responsible for their own expenses.
